Did anyone survive the memetic event?
The only non-titslut left in the sorority.
Eve was not quite sure how she had ended up in the sorority. She wasn't exactly a shut in nerd, but she also wasn't a party girl or a cheerleader like the other women she shared living space with. But in a desperate struggle to find accomodation before starting uni, this was the final option she had found. Luckily the sorority mostly left her alone, as long as she contributed and paid her share of the rent. Instead Eve spent her time drawing on her tablet. One good thing about having a bunch of people obsessed with their looks around her was that she often had willing subjects to draw. Although she figured out quickly that taking some artistic liberation in her interpretations was not welcomed. Usually her flatmates wanted her to draw them 'realistic'. Which always meant to make them prettier and remove any imperfections. Still, it was good practice and the main way Eve got to socialize with the people she shared accommodations with, even if they mostly babbled on about guys or cheers or other boring topics.
Eve was violently awoken by her alarm clock blasting the most horribly discordant noise straight into her ears. She barely manages to sit up and turn the thing off, feeling a wave of drowsiness overcome her. She had stayed up way too late working on a self portrait. She couldn't get the balance of colour right and it had driven her mad, keeping her up way past midnight. Eventually she had given up and hopped straight into bed, knowing she would only get a couple hours of sleep before she needs to head to class. With a tired groan, the half african american, half latino, prepared herself to head out. She grabbed her phone and prepared to leave, noticing several hundred new messages in the sorority groupchat, something that was not an uncommon occurence. She ignored it, like usual. If the others wanted something from her they could ask her in person. Exiting her bedroom she didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, the flat was usually quiet this time of day. Most of the others had afternoon classes to accomodate for their partying lifestyle, especially on a monday like today.
Walking into the kitchen Eve grabbed herself a simple bowl of cereal and a glass of juice, sitting down by the countertop on a tall round stool. As she lazily spoons the milk covered crunch into her mouth she hears a faint noise coming from the couch in the livingroom. Having a direct sightline thanks to the open floor plan of the apartment, Eve notices Fia, a Swedish exchange student that gave the others in the sorority a run for their money in terms of being a ditzy bimbo. It wasn't uncommon for Fia to be up in the early mornings, something that made Eve wonder when the pale blonde ever slept, considering the swede had never missed a party as far as Eve was concerned. Fia's ice cold blue eyes were locked onto her smartphone, like usual, blasting some sort of peppy music into the living room. Eve sighed, she was too tired to deal with this. At least Fia didn't seem to have noticed her. Finishing her breakfast she went to the door, putting on her black thigh high boots and black leather jacket to go with the rest of her artsy fit, something that the sorority found to be quite ridiculous. Right before opening the door Fia finally spoke up in perfect english, her swedish accent making it obvious that she is from abroad.
- Heeey! Eve! Did you read the group chat?
- No. I never do. You know that.
- Awww...then let me show you this neat video the others shared! It's so much fun~ Pleeeeease?
Eve groaned. Wouldn't be the first time Fia or someone else tried to make her watch some silly cheer or dance routine. At least it was a form of artistic expression, even if the videos usually involved women appealing a little too much to their sex appeal for Eve's tastes. Still, Eve had a soft spot for the Swede. Fia was harmless and had never made fun of Eve's lifestyle. They would occasionally share stories of their childhoods too. In a way Fia was the only person Eve would consider a friend within the sorority. Still, She was at danger of running late and with her lack of sleep had no patience for this sort of stuff right now.
- I'm sorry Fia. Another time. I'm kinda exhausted and need to get to class.
- Ohh...alright...I'll send it to you privately then. Just watch it when you have time ok? I promise you'll love it!
- No promises...Bye Fia.
- Bye!
Eve opened the door and slammed it behind her perhaps a little too hard. It was difficult to hide her current mood as she wandered towards the local bus stop.
