The next morning.

You wake up without any further interruption. Looking around, you notice that Susie is entirely absent. The only person around is Kris, who is lazily eating a bowl of cereal. When Kris notices that you are awake, they pause for a moment. "Looks like you're finally awake." Kris says in between mouthfuls their cereal. After a few seconds of awkward silence, Kris sets their spoon in their bowl of cereal and looks at you with a hard glare. "Listen, I don't know why you're here, but I don't trust you." Kris says outright. "The others may not know what you are, but I do." Kris lets their words sink in for a moment, before letting out a sigh and continuing. "As long as you don't try anything, I'll do whatever stupid quest you want me to do, then you can go back to wherever you came from, ok?" Before you can respond, Kris checks the time on their phone and gets up from the kitchen counter. They walk around the kitchen island and towards the door out of the apartment. "I have classes I need to get to." Kris says as they put on a jacket that's hanging near the door. "Just... don't make me regret letting you stick around." And with that, Kris opens up the door and leaves.

You're all alone in the apartment now, with only the messy piles and unwashed dishes to keep you company. You ruminate over Kris' words, thinking back to your time together. It felt like a lifetime ago, and it probably was, to some people. Regardless, after lounging around for a while, mindlessly watching some TV, you begin to feel an almost imperceptible tugging feeling. It's almost as if your very soul is being drawn somewhere, to do something. You notice a spare key to the apartment hidden behind some random junk near the door. You take the key into your hand and think about your options.
