The next day

You wake up in the morning when Amanda's alarm on her phone goes off. You stay in bed while she jumps into the shower and then gets dressed for work.

She sits down on the side of the bed and touches your bare chest tenderly. "See you later?" Amanda asks hopefully.

"Yes. Why don't you come by tonight after work? We can order in and watch tv."

"Sounds like a date! I'll swing by my apartment to grab some clothes after work, then I'll be right here. Enjoy your day off!" She kisses you on the forehead and leaves, letting you fall asleep again.

You wake up a couple of hours later and head down to the kitchen to fix yourself something to eat. Olivia is sitting at the counter reading a novel. She looks up with a smile when she sees you.

"Morning John! I was going to join you last night, but I heard you had a visitor. I thought you might have wanted some privacy, so I slept in my room."

"Yeah, thanks. Um. I think she'll be around a lot, so maybe we're going to cool it off in the mansion for now, okay?" you say.

"Okay. Just let me know if you want me to do anything," Olivia looks at her watch. "Oh, I've got a flight to catch, gotta go."

"Flight?"

"Yeah, my cousin's getting married. We're going to Vegas for the week with some gals. I'll be back next week."

"Okay..." You can't remember if Olivia had told about her cousin. Maybe you might drop in on them later in the week.

"Oh, here, take this invitation," Olivia hands you a card. "A friend of my mother's is hosting a party tomorrow night but I won't be here. I've always wanted to go to her parties. You can bring your girlfriend too, if you want."

"A party?"

"Yeah, my mother used to go when she was well. But she always forbade me from going with her. You should go."

After Olivia left, you made yourself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and think about what to do with your day off. You didn't feel like fighting crime today so you look up fun places to go on your computer. With your magic, you could go anywhere and be back by dinner.
