The next day headaches and a surprising new ally.

You hadn’t seen your dad and Dana in a couple days after the whole fiasco. You did get a text on your phone from Dana but it was of your dad laying back as Dana was riding him.

There was a message under it but you just delete it without checking it after seeing the picture.

“This coulda been just you and me Henry for now on, but you’re too clueless to even realize how much of a dumbass you’re being. Get the picture that I just want YOU, finally?”

You did however enjoy the peace and quiet overall and decided to stay away from school for the time being.

You called in sick for the first time and mentioned you wouldn’t be coming in. They agreed to it and you silently shouted in relief.

But your peace was stopped since someone’s knocking at the front door.

You check the peephole to see a familiar face.

Regina Dickerson, Dennis’ mom was here!?

You didn’t see anyone with her but you decided to open the door.

You blinked in surprise but let her continue.

“I’m aware of what my son has done and his sudden marriage to your…”

“Former mother, Shelly doesn’t mean anything to me anymore but forgive me for interrupting, please continue.”

“Thank you, me and his father were out of town and found out he was getting married the day before we came back. Needless to say, I had quite a few words to say but his dad actually defended him. I was horrified when I found out his dad gave the okay before our trip and now I realized my husband is hiding things from me…”

“The point is that I’m aware that something is going on behind both of our backs and… I found something surprising that you deserve to know. Henry… you’re my husband’s bastard child.”

“WHAT!?!?”

After that shout she held you with your face in her breasts. Weirdly enough you just held her back.

She started talking to you while you continued to hold her.

“When I found out Frank’s little secret in his office, I learned he cheated on me with your mother years ago. She was pregnant with you because of him. Dennis takes after him but I don’t think he realizes you’re his half brother. I’m so sorry Henry.”

You just silently shake your head in acknowledgment to show you were listening.

“I’ve been against how my son has been treating others and his dad is no better. I married him out of a fantasy but now… I’m a hypocrite because I used to hate people like that. I’m actually ashamed that he’s my own son right now.”

You then look at her with a sad face.

“Thank you for telling me but how did you find out?”

She pulled out a dna test form from years ago. It said that the fetus was Frank’s.

You rubbed your head, it was just one thing to another.

“I know that it seems strange that I would tell you all this when we haven’t met prior but I was done with it all. I had hoped this would ease my guilt in the past but I’m still unsure.”

You looked at her in the eyes to see a pained, miserable gaze.

Something you were familiar with when looking in the mirror.

You decided to be kind.

“Would… would you like to have breakfast with me then? I can cook on my own or we could go out.”

Surprised, she agreed albeit worried.

“I would but… I don’t want there to be any misunderstanding between us. I know you’ve been hurting but I don’t want to be used as **** on my son.”

You shook your head and reassured her.

“I’m not petty or cruel like that prick but I admit I do find you attractive but right now, I think we need to give this some time to process over pancakes. If that’s alright of course.”

She smiled and finally accepted, she actually knew a great pancake house just outside of town away from prying eyes.

So that’s what the two of you did.

Needless to say, you may have found an unexpected ally in all this.
