The next day - her roommate sold her clothes

The next day, Anneliese arose and took a shower. After washing herself thoroughly, both of the grime and of what happened yesterday, she walked back to her room, dressed in a towel for her body, a towel for her hair, and slides.

Getting dressed for the day, Anneliese looked through her drawers and noticed most of her clothes were missing - only a few blouses and skirts remained, and her hose.

"Jessica?" Anneliese asked her roommate, "would you know where my shirts and underwear are?"

"Oh, I sold them," Jessica retorted matter of factly, "and I left you the money on the table."

"What?!?!" Anneliese turned to face her, "why did you do that?!"

"You only bought those for America, right? I figured the money would be better spent on textbooks."

"Why would I buy all that stuff for America!?" Anneliese grew even more puzzled.

"I thought you Germans only got dressed for special occasions," Jessica shrugged, pulling out her phone and showing a picture of Anneliese sitting naked in class.

Anneliese grew ****, and opened all her drawers with loud bangs, before yanking open the closet door. Jessica had kept her blouses, skirts, suit pants, stockings, dresses, and shoes - the Birkenstocks were spared! - but everything else was gone. No more shirts, no more shorts, no more jeans, and no more underwear!

Anneliese turned back around and was about to march on Jessica and chew her out for taking her stuff without her permission, but noticed the wad of money on the table between their beds. Picking it up and counting it, she saw it was $600.

"I did give you a hundred extra," Jessica chimed in, "you know, for depreciation and all that."

Anneliese held the wad to her chest, considering her next move.
