The meeting point of three areas

You wake up freezing cold as you start shaking in the stasis code breaking a layer of ice around your body. You gasp out and struggle to take a breath as your body is jerked out of stasis. You look around the pod in a bit of panic, taking several deep breaths, you calm down and get your bearings. You see a screen in front of you with a blinking symbol, pressing it you see the intro of the show appear.

“Welcome folks, it’s your host Matt Free bringing you another amazing season of Survival Island:Variety Edition. This season we have five talented contestants ready to brave the cursed Yana’korabe Island, including returning contestant Jeff Morison who we are giving another shot after last season when his pod landed in a lava pool.” Pictures of each of the contestants were presented on the screen. This is required due to a few incidents in the early days of the show when a few contestants looked vaguely similar to some characters and other contestants tried to capture/claim them.

You see videos of each contestant’s training methods and lifestyle, it looks like that Jeff guy really pumped himself up for quitting only a few minutes into the season. Then again, you think that waking up with your pod sinking in lava would have anyone quitting on the spot; rumor is that the guy pissed off a Chris from Total Drama Island who helped design the island and that Chris was gotten rid of after the incident.

“Each contestant needs to find and recruit as many characters as they can while working on a way to escape the island. There are sixty characters in total up for grabs. Each contestant who makes it off the island will win whichever characters they managed to escape alive with along with ten thousand dollars for every day they are on the island along with bonuses for additional tasks completed.” The host continued to explain to the viewer at home. “First person off the island will gain half a million bonus while the one to survive the longest will win three million tax-free dollars.”

“And as a reminder, competition between contestants is to be expected including the capture and claiming of each others characters but we do not condone potentially lethal actions taken against other contestants and swift action will be taken,” a series of videos showing contestants sword fighting and one seriously injuring each other and others of contestants shoving each other off cliffs appeared. You gulp, hoping that your fellow contestants don’t take things too far.

“Now that that’s out of the way, let's get this show on the road,” the announcer said and the screen turned off. You look around the pod and see a lever at the top saying ‘emergency release’ which is probably meant to hide that the pod was different from the character ones. You carefully look out the window of the pod and only see grass and trees. You pull the lever and are blinded a bit at the bright sun.

You step out of the pod and look around. You see a beach to one side, a forest with unusual sounds in front and a hilly grassy area behind you. Spotting the crates of supplies nearby, you grab a backpack and quickly start loading it with rope, an extra set of clothes, enough food and water for a week for one person, a fire starter kit, a small tent and a sleeping bag. You do see a frying pan, a lot more supplies and another backpack but you were unsure you had space left. You finally decide to grab the frying pan and strap it to your backpack.
