The local gym

About three times a week, John would exercise at the local gym. There were hardly any women there. If his theory about him being the only man was correct, there was a chance the gym would be empty, if not locked up.

He drove to the gym, got out and walked up to the doors. They were unlocked, so he walked right in. So far his theory was right. Normally, he would hear the sounds of conversation, if nothing else, but total silence.

"Can I help you, sir?"

John turned around and saw a woman about his age standing there. She seemed to be an employee of the gym. "Can I help you?" she asked again.
