The high elves

The warp was nearly instantaneous, taking you to the boarder of their nation in a clearing off the main road. Though they had fallen overall the ancient detection magics could very well still be in place, you weren't ready to deal with being found out immediately. Your plan was simple, slowly build yourself up and make a name for yourself, then rise to the greatest heights of power.

You used a simple (to you) spell, forming your clothing into more appropriate form for this world, something plain and meager. You looked about, making sure you weren't being watched before stepping out onto the road and heading towards the country's border. It seemed odd honestly, not a single shred of the world you once knew was anywhere to be seen, no asphalt, no cars, no technology. You would have to change that eventually.

As you walked you started passing people, some on various fantastical mounts or in wagons, a few of whom stared at you like an alien as you passed. After several instances of this you stopped a young man and quickly learned why, humans are extinct on the continent, having been **** out over the centuries in wars, mostly started by them refusing to back down. As you turned away he hurried off, scared.

After about an hour of travel you reached a wall about thirty feet tall, it stretched in both directions into the horizon, and before you was a guard station. There was a line of people, waiting to talk and be inspected by guards before being let through. As you waited you saw three candidates to talk to. A young woman who couldn't have been older than twenty-five, a couple driving a wagon, and a mysterious figure in a cloak, both gender and looks hidden behind it and the accompanying hood.
