The meeting winds up

The get into the business details

Chapter 28 by MRJT

The tone in the room shifted into practical details.

Sarah slid a slim folder across the table toward them while one of her team members brought up a clean summary on the screen. David and the board members leaned in slightly, the conversation moving from vision to numbers and logistics.

“Let’s talk terms,” Sarah said, still warm but now more precise. “If we move forward, the initial contract would cover the first wave of content—television spots, billboards, the social mini-stories, and the in-store assets. Base fee for the pair would be structured as a joint payment, with a clear schedule of instalments tied to delivery of the work. There’s also a performance-related uplift if the campaign hits agreed engagement thresholds, and a separate conversation about the expanded home-and-app pieces if those go ahead.”

Mike’s hand stayed on Maya under the table. His broad palm rested lightly on her thigh now, thumb stroking slow, absent patterns against the denim as if the contact were the most natural thing in the world. Maya responded without thinking—her leg pressed back into his touch, her shoulder remaining against his arm, her fingers occasionally brushing his wrist in small, answering movements. Every point of contact kept the unfinished heat from the afternoon quietly alive in her core.

Sarah continued, flipping to a simple timeline.

“Filming for the first package would be scheduled approximately one month from now. We’ll lock exact dates once contracts are signed, but we’re looking at a concentrated block—three to four days across store locations and one or two simple lifestyle settings. Call times would be reasonable, and we’ll work around any existing commitments as much as possible. After the initial delivery there would be a short window for pick-ups or minor reshoots if needed.”

Mike’s fingers flexed once against Maya’s thigh, a small, private pressure. She answered it by shifting a fraction closer, her knee remaining firmly against his. The residual need still flickered low in her body; the steady, casual touching made it impossible to ignore and, at the same time, made it feel like part of the performance the room expected to see.

David cleared his throat and added a few practical notes about store access and staff coordination. One of the board members asked a brief question about exclusivity during the campaign window. Sarah answered smoothly, then returned to the folder.

“We’ll have the full contract draft with fee breakdown, usage rights, and the filming schedule outline ready for you to review within the next few days,” she said. “Nothing needs to be signed today—we simply want you both clear on the shape of the commitment. If everything looks good, we can move straight into scheduling for a month’s time.”

Throughout the exchange Mike never stopped the quiet contact. His hand remained on Maya’s thigh, occasionally sliding a little higher in a slow, proprietary stroke before settling again. Maya kept responding—leaning into him, letting her fingers rest over his, turning her face toward him when she nodded at a detail—exactly the touchy-feely, lived-in dynamic the agency had praised. The business conversation continued around them, clean and professional, while the unfinished heat he had left her with earlier stayed warm and present beneath every small answering touch she gave him in return.

Sarah closed the folder with a satisfied nod.

“Then we’re aligned,” she said. “We’ll send the full contract draft and fee schedule through within the next couple of days. Assuming everything looks acceptable on your side, we can treat the filming block in a month’s time as provisional and lock the exact dates once the paperwork is signed.”

David smiled broadly and reached for his phone.

“I’ll put the holding dates in the store calendar now,” he said. “Gives us time to arrange access and brief the relevant staff.”

One of Sarah’s team members did the same on the agency side, tapping the provisional window into a shared schedule. The board members offered quiet nods of approval. The practical shape of the next month settled into place around the table.

Mike gave Maya’s thigh one last slow, private stroke under the table before both of them rose. She stayed close as they moved around the chairs, her hand finding his arm again the moment they were on their feet. The residual heat from the interrupted afternoon still flickered low in her core; every point of contact with him kept it from fading completely.

Handshakes followed in a short, professional flurry.

David shook Mike’s hand firmly, then Maya’s, his smile still wide. “Looking forward to seeing the two of you on set.”

Sarah came next, her grip warm and decisive. “We’re genuinely excited about this pairing. The chemistry is already there—now we just capture it.”

The remaining team members and board members offered brief, polite handshakes in turn. Throughout it all Maya remained angled toward Mike, her body language soft and connected, exactly the loving, everyday couple the room had responded to so strongly.

When the last handshake was done, Mike rested his hand lightly against the small of her back and guided her toward the door. Maya leaned into the touch without hesitation. The unfinished need still pulsed quietly beneath her skin, the campaign’s promises of more closeness and more “practice” wrapping themselves around it like permission.

They stepped back out into the narrow staff corridor, then through the rear doors into the late-afternoon air. The meeting was over. Provisional dates sat in the calendars. The performance, for today, had held.

Mike’s hand stayed at her back as they walked toward the car, the solid contact a quiet reminder of everything that had been left deliberately unfinished—and of how much more practice the coming month might yet require.
