The game plan.

I swallowed my own food before tapping my fork on the plate. "Well, first things first, you need new clothes," I told her. Toph tilted her head, her expression puzzled. "I told you, Toph, times have changed greatly from the last thing you remember. Your clothes are kinda...outdated."

Snorting, Toph crossed her arms. "Like I care about fashion," she muttered in annoyance. "Maybe so," I replied, "but you need to remember that your only pair of clothes got drenched in a river yesterday. I can dry those right quick, but it's the only set you have." Her expression was still sour. "Besides, businesses now a-days require people wear shoes."

That set her off. "What?! John, you can't be serious!" she cried in alarm. "I can't see if I'm stuck wearing shoes!" I rubbed my chin. This was true...but I had a plan. "The materials used in shoes these days are different from what you used to wear. You should be able to see through them." Since Toph was a robot and all, I figured that whatever she wore, she'd be able to "see" through anyway. If not, I think sandals would work just fine.

"But..." Toph began, but I interrupted her. "Trust me, Toph," I insisted. Her cheeks turned a bit pink and she nodded. "Alright. You know best, I guess. ...still not sure how I got here. Everything is so weird," she muttered. "Still...I don't want to go back if it means leaving you behind, Johnny-boy. You're stuck with me." I chuckled. I could think of worse fates.

After breakfast...and teaching Toph how to brush her teeth...I got her clothes all dried and ready to go. Once I got the clothes, I could consider the next step. Now...what sort of clothes would suit Toph best? I doubt she'd be into anything too...girlie...though she would need at least one dress. Something form fitting and elegant...

But as for casual clothes, I needed a sort of style for her. Perhaps tomboyish? Sandals, jeans, t-shirts... Maybe something kinda...punk. I could see Toph as a "punk" girl. Not a goth...too much make-up involved. Hmm...
