Chapter 7 by Cantalope Cantalope

What's next?

The flower drags her inside.

Aster shrieked, leaping back, wings beating to push her from the animated plant. The anther stuck to her leg held fast, holding her like a tether as she pulled it taught. The other tendrils joined it, reaching for her, slow but altogether too fast for a plant. Somehow the animal qualities of the plant, namely its movement, were just as unsettling to her as how it was trying to eat her. This was unnatural on so many levels... a fairy must be animating the plant with magic but she felt none of the spine-tingling energy that signaled its use.

The tendrils stuck to her bound leg, then her other as she tried to kick them off. They retracted, dragging her into the maw of the beastly flower. She focussed, drawing energy into herself to sever the ties and free her... only to feel it drain away just as quickly. Instead of weakening it, the flower sucked the magic out through her legs, pulsing a seething red. It's strength redoubled, yanking her out of the air and into the pit at its center.

"Aster!" Blue reached for her too late. The fleshy red petals snapped shut, cutting off sight of her alarmed troupe, and trapping Aster inside the dark pod.

The anthers were everywhere, sliding and oozing a sticky resin that made it impossible to struggle free. All her struggles accomplished was shredding her rudimentary dress and helping the tendrils further encircle her. One adventurous stalk found its way between her thighs, roughly rubbing against her quim and rosebud. Out of reflex she drew magic to herself once more, cursing as it drained away just as before and the plant became more invigorated. The sluggish tendril grew excited, making a schlicking sound as it fervently rubbed sticky goo into her nethers.

Aster gasped, taking in a noxious breath of thick air before coughing it out again. It was like the aroma she'd noticed on the outside except a hundred times stronger, the bitter musk burning her throat and lungs. She fought to hold what little clean air she had left but it was a losing battle with the squirming mass of prodding tendrils that surrounded her. The stalk between her legs was driving her crazy, she felt herself already on the verge of release, the thick resin now lubricating her every possible nook and cranny.

Blue struggled to pry open the fleshy petals of the possessed plant as Daisy looked on in horror, "Come on help me!" Five fairies swept in to assist, scrabbling at the tightly shut flower with little effect.

Daisy snapped out of her frozen state, taking to the air, "You aren't strong enough, we have to blast it open with magic!"

Blue flitted back, shaking her head as the other fairies began to channel their energies, "Did you see what happened when Aster tried that? We can't use magic!" The two glared at one another as the gathered fairies glanced apprehensively between them, unsure who to follow. Blue looked away first, searching for something she could use to open the petals. A sharp rock near the base of the flower caught her eye...

Magic or Rock?
