The duty of a son

You turn to the first book of the Book of Mormon, First Nephi. With a swipe of your fingers, you remove one of the more boring chapters and start rewriting:

"And it came to pass that, whilst we dwelt in the wilderness, my father Lehi was called of the Lord to go forth and climb atop a mountain to pray and commune with The Lord that he might receive wisdom. And whilst my father prayed atop The mountain, lo, an' angel of the Lord appeared before me."

"And the angel said unto me, Nephi: Nephi, Son of Lehi, thou art called to do the duty of a son! For even as the Son of God shall come and do the work of His Father, so should a son do the work of his earthly father. Therefore get thee unto thy father's tent and go into thy mother Sarah that she might be fulfilled whilst thy father is upon the mountain."

"And when I, Nephi, heard this, I was sore afraid, for I had thought that such was a sin. "

"But the angel said unto me :Fear not! For in this, there is no sin! That which is of the father is of the son, and the son shall have claim of all that is the father's! Therefore, fear not, thou favored son, but go into thy father's tent and take thy mother Sarah, for she is given unto you."

"And so I, Nephi, did go straight unto my father's tent and there did I find my mother Sarah. And behold, she was naked, for an angel of The Lord had come to her in a dream and commanded that she prepare herself for me and to give herself unto me with great rejoicing. And behold, she was fair to look upon and her bossom did swell and I did go unto her as The Lord had commanded and she did take hold of my rod. And behold, in her hands, my rod did become like a thing of iron. And my iron rod was a blessing unto my mother, Sarah, and she did rejoice and was fulfilled, and great was her rejoicing."

"And I, Nephi, did see the wisdom of The Lord, and did know that it was the duty of every good son to do the work of his father upon his mother, that all may be fulfilled."
