Jennifer looked at the cornucopia carving and felt her stomach groan. She had neglected to eat anything. Or pack any snacks. Lead by her stomach, she pushed the door open and walked in.

Walking in, she was immediately struck with the smell of just-cooked food, and the warmth of good, hot food. She found herself in an ancient dining hall, the single long table covered in hundreds of food dishes, all steaming hot and mouth-wateringly tasty looking. Jennifer could barely control herself enough to stride to the head of the table and read the note on it. It read as follows:

Dear traveler,

Enjoy this feast, as a token of good hospitality. However, as is practice here, you must offer a part of the feast to the goddess Aphrodite, so as she might bless you with good travels. Should you neglect to do so, or not give the right offering, you will upset the goddess and feel her wrath. To sacrifice the offering, take the food items to the pyre to be burned before the idol of Aphrodite.

Jennifer licked her lips. Enjoy the feast? And all she had to do was sacrifice a part of it to some god? She looked through the many dishes, wondering what she should do.
