The direct approach.

You're sitting on the edge of Alex's bed, with your legs held together primly and your hands in your lap. You got in through the side door, the key to which you've known the hiding place of since you were thirteen. You left Gwen downstairs reading on the couch, reassured by you that Alex's parents are never around during the day.
