The different Ajahs of the Aes Sedai

Blue Ajah

The Blue Ajah of the Aes Sedai normally involve themselves with righteous causes and justice. They have the most extensive eyes-and-ears network, and enjoy the prestige of having the highest number of Amyrlin Seats raised from their Ajah in the last millennium.

The Blue has been at odds with the Red Ajah for a millennium also, and for a time were separate from the White Tower altogether. The head of the Blue Ajah is called the First Selector.

Green Ajah

The Green Ajah of the Aes Sedai holds itself ready for the final battle between good and evil when the Dark One inevitably breaks free from his prison. They were called the "Battle Ajah" during the Trolloc Wars and are excellent generals who can plan effective battle strategies. They bond as many Warders as they wish, and have been on friendly terms with the Blue Ajah for a millennium. The head of the Green Ajah is known as the Captain-General.

Yellow Ajah

The Yellow Ajah of the Aes Sedai primarily studies Healing. The leader of the Yellow Ajah is called the First Weaver.

Red Ajah

The Red Ajah of the Aes Sedai was, for more than two thousand years, dedicated to prevent the wrong and dangerous use of the One Power, in particular the Red sisters dedicated themselves in locating men with the ability to channel and bringing them to the White Tower for gentling.

Red sisters generally do not have friends outside of their Ajah, and upon donning the shawl are often **** to end any friendship with women not also of the Red. Until recent times they bond no Warders, and have been at odds with the Blue Ajah for a millennium. The leader of the Red Ajah is known as the Highest.

White Ajah

The White Ajah of the Aes Sedai is dedicated to the value of logic, and devotes itself to questions of philosophy and truth. They do not concern themselves with worldly affairs, it seems that they have no eyes-and-ears network. The head of the White Ajah is called the First Reasoner.

Gray Ajah

The Gray Ajah of the Aes Sedai are dedicated to politics and mediation. They favor harmony and consensus above all else, and are often conflict mediators or ambassadors. The leader of the Gray Ajah is called the Head Clerk

Brown Ajah

The Brown Ajah of the Aes Sedai is devoted to knowledge and the collection of ancient wisdom. They generally forsake the mundane world, instead dedicating themselves to history and study, and are responsible for the administration of the White Tower Library. The Brown Ajah is run by a ruling council, the head of which is called First Chair.
