The city

Cara didn't talk much, which was nice as I wasn't exactly sure what I would say to someone like her. I know I need her to look more legitimate, as the village I first appeared in at first thought I was a 'Giant', a monster until proven wrong. I know I don't have enough charm to get inside a city with armed doors without resorting to ****. While that would be easy, it wouldn't work for every experience and I needed more knowledge about this realm. I 'could' have taken some knowledge from the bandits with my special gland, but they seemed so stupid that I didn't think I would get more than I got from the deer I had killed.

Also, I had some weird feelings in my body lately. It was a whisper of a feeling of hunger but it didn't go away when I ate. I was continuing to mostly ignore it thought and put it down to the food of the strange world.

Taking stock of my travelling companion, Cara was a human female. Blonde hair and fair of figure. She seemed to be an adult and in rather good condition. She seemed to not have the telltale signs of living in a hive city. Her back was not hunched from heavy labour, she had all her fingers and limbs. Also, this world must be a paradise world, as the air was clean, and there was so much greenery that didn't have a purpose. Not a single sign of any industrial equipment means this was a feudal world.

There was that feeling again. I shook my head and steeled my resolve as whatever it was, it would not move me from my mission.

As we approached the gates of the city, I took stock of the meager defences. Good walls and troops seemed well-armed for a feudal world. Cara broke my concentration when she spoke,

"Speak the truth and things will work out," She said with a smile

"Space marines don't lie," I said simply.

"Well then just say you are looking to work as a bounty hunter or adventurer, They always need those."

The guard halted and started shouting when they saw me. Pikes were brought up and once again I can agree that they were trained well enough to see someone of my size and use appropriate weapons. Not that it would help.

Cara shouted, "He is a friend! He killed the bandits that tried to rob me and my father on the road. My father died but this man saved me and has been escorting me here. "

The guards relaxed a bit, having heard Cara's words and it seemed that it meant a lot to them. "As long as you say so, send him to the guild hall. They could use a big guy like that."

As the guards waved them through, I was pleased to see that I was right. By associating with the locals, I had been given free passage inside the walls. Now what was this guild?

"Cara... where is the guild hall and what do they do?"

Cara then explained that this guild hall was one of many in large cities that contracted out bounties and whatnot in exchange for coin. The guild members were called 'Bounty hunters' if all they did was hunt species and 'adventurers' if they did exploring, hunting, and every other job.
