The captain has some harsh news

Nurse Ajol led me out of the Infirmary, giving me my first glance at the rest of the ship as she guided me down through corridors. It was what you would expect from a starship hallway I suppose, with gleaming metal walls and floors, with screens filled with detailed information on ship status, duty rosters, the daily offerings in the cafeteria, etc. Eventually, after taking an elevator trip or two we arrived at a door that to all apparent viewing looked exactly like all the others apart from a gold plaque on the wall beside it reading "Captains Office"

Nurse Ajol rang the buzzer to announce our presence and ushered me into the room. Offices, it seems don't tend to vary from Intergalactic starships and your standard CEO on Earth, it was a large room, decorated warmly with various certificates, awards, and trinkets from the captain's various journeys, along with a small replica of what I assume was the ship we are currently on

The captain, much to my surprise, was a human woman, with ginger red hair flowing to shoulder length. She looked up at us from her tablet and nodded to Ajol "excellent, thank you, Nurse. you are dismissed" Nurse Ajol gave a small salute and left the room as the Captain then turned her attention to me "Please sit." she said, gesturing to a couple of chairs set in front of the desk. I sat feeling much like I was being sent to the principal's office back in High School.

The captain again looked at her pad. "Mr. Doe was it? I am happy that we managed to rescue you from that Dogran ship. I was told you led the charge on gathering all the other victims and leading them to the escape pod, Great work on that it takes strength of will to be able to take control of a scary situation like that, we, unfortunately, had no idea that they had taken prisoners, or we never would've destroyed the ship, just crippled it, so those other victims owe you their lives, and we owe you all our apologies, we should've done more due diligence and you almost died for it." The captain said with a soft smile. "Sadly we owe you in particular, more apologies. You see, we can not let you go home. Now that you know what is out here, at best you would be called crazy, at worst well, you know the rumors of Area 51 and all that. the Federation will take care of you however, the Thrust can take you to any planet you choose to settle on, and provide you training to get caught up to everything. even provide you with a job and Stipend. I know it's hard to hear, and if it makes it any better, I was in your same position about 10 years ago, and through hard work and dedication I managed to become a Captain of a Federation Starship! we don't discriminate here, and doors are open that you want to walk through."
