The beginnings of misadventure

With Sarah following into her own cubicle, Alex took a deep breath before repeating their thumbprint authentication to open the sliding doors. Inside he was met with a smooth, sterile yet clearly artificial white room with numerous panels coating the walls. In the centre of the room was bulky metal chair with numerous sprockets on each side and a basin behind the headrest, presumably for catching water after a hair wash.

"Greetings", a demure, female-based artificial voice sounded out from an unseen speaker. "I am the Automated Style Bunker Management System, but you can call me Jenny. Please input your preferred settings into the console by the screen and we can begin".

Alex complied making his way to the console before choosing the "Smart and Dapper" option from the Popular Choices menu.

"Thank you, you have chosen [SMART AND DAPPER], please sit down and remove your footwear so we can measure your dimensions for your new outfit".

At that precise moment, a scanning array descended from the ceiling before the chair, the space below glowing green to indicate to Alex where he should stand for the process to begin. Alex removed his shoes and stepped onto the illuminated patch of panelling, the array slowly lowering past his head towards his chest.

Without warning, the array stopped halfway before a shrill beep rang across the room. The central console screen fizzled before glitching profusely. Alex gulped, wondering whether he had touched something he shouldn't have, before Jenny's soothing robotic voice sounded once again.
