Chapter 28 by Funtimes Funtimes

What's next?

The battle of one

You were surprisingly happy to see the King of Frankia riding out to meet you with the remains of his army on a snowy field, as the one-sided killing has sickened you to your core.

You met him in the middle of the field to have the customary prebattle discussion.

As custom dictates, you ask, "King of Francia, what is your request?"

The firm man before you laughs. "We both know you are not in charge; thus, if I had a request, it would not be given to you."

You look firmly into the King's eyes, and you can see he must somewhat know what goes on behind the scenes. "Then you have you rode your horse out in the middle of the field on this cold day."

The King laughs. "I figured it was a king's duty to come out here to give the future king of this land some advice."

The calm tone is disturbing: "You talk as if you have already lost this battle."

The King smiles. "Because I have; I would be surprised if that wretched, bloodthirsty woman hasn't poisoned me. No, I will die today. And it will be at the start of this battle, and my troops know to surrender on my **** and obey your every command as their new King so as not to cause any more loss of life than is needed."

"Why would you plan such an act? Don't you hate me for invading you?"

The King walks over and pats you on the back. "My dear boy, you're just a tool for our real enemy. As such, I can hate you more than a soldier can hate his enemy's sword. I pity you because I know when I am going to die, you have to live the rest of your life in fear of when she is going to turn her anger on you. Now, I believe you have wasted enough time; if I am not mistaken, my wretched wife is waiting on her perch to watch my ****."

He rode his horse back to his line before dismounting and promptly starting his charge. He picked up speed in his run so that he was five feet ahead of his line. His most loyal soldiers tried to stay with him, but the wild swing of his blade **** them back. He practically ran into the first spear of a soldier that he could find, and with that, his troops laid down their weapons and retreated.

There has never been so empty of a battlefield, and there has never been such a depressed battlefield. But the deed that you set out over two months ago is done, and with the last bit of resistance, there was cast to the side, and caring for the dead body of their King; it was an easy, solemn ride through the capital's gates for your victorious army. Like every other time when a foreign victorious army enters a city, the population is expected to be hiding in the deepest, darkest part of their homes out of fear of what you might do. But that is not what happens, as their population lines the streets similar to what is expected of a liberation army.

Even as the situation confuses you, you notice a civilian approach one of your soldiers and say something. After the civilian had left, your need to know what's going on causes you to ask your about what the man has said.

The soldier replies, "Sire, the man claimed to not know of the King's treachery and begged for fair for his family."

"Did the man state the King's treachery?"

The soldier shakes his head no, so you motion for Sir Detrict to come to you. "I find it very troubling that it appears we are the only ones not aware of this treachery against us. "

Sir Dietrich bows before speaking, "It appears our woman on the inside may have spun a tail for the citizen of this nation."

"If that is the case, I believe I must have a conversation with that woman to find out exactly what tale tail she has been spinning. Please see that my troops get settled." You kick your horse and quickly gallop off towards the keep, where the Queen's hand is waiting to greet you. "Sire, my lady is waiting for you this way." Without waiting for you she turns around and walks into the keep's long corridor.

Despite the tense situation, you find your attention drawn to her hips, as your slightly distracted mind appreciated the fact that she is suited to be a mother, preferably to bastard that you might sow in her unwedded womb. Even if Queen Anna is a dangerously manipulative woman, she at least has the ability to choose the right people for the right job. Just like she seems to pick you as the next king to support, the handmaid was chosen because the girl fits your personal preference. Plus, the handmaid seems to be very loyal to her, and you're quite confident that she is willing to give up her life should Queen Anna command her to do so.

Deciding to postpone your thoughts to a later time, you keep walking, still keeping your eyes on the handmaid's ass. Eventually, you reach Queen Anna's chamber and there she is, waiting by the door like a lovestruck girl waiting for her lover's triumphant return; you can't help feeling that the action was very calculative on her part. "I am here, Queen Anna."

The now windowed queen smiles coquettishly "Handmaid, you may leave."

"My lady, are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Then I'll just be outside the door if you need me."

" No need for that. I am perfectly safe. You can attend to your daily tasks."

The handmaid bows and quickly exacts the room before Queen Ana shifts her attention to you. "She is truly the best, almost as beautiful as me. As skillful with her month, too." She runs your hand across your chin. "If you're a good boy, I might even let her use that month on you, just like she did to me, out there." She points to her balcony. "While I watch you claim your victory. That is if you haven't already satisfied you lust with all your captive women. "

How do you respond?
