The audition ends

Greg took a last look at Abbie, and stepped away.

"That was great, Abbie. Great audition."

"Is that all?" Abbie asked, a bit taken aback with how abruptly the moment ended.

Greg nodded. "That's all I need to see today."

"May I ask -- it ended so quickly. Is that normal?"

"We have to be able to turn scenes on and off like a light switch."

Abbie nodded along. "I never knew that. How fascinating!" She scooped up her shoes and shawl from the floor. "This has been really interesting and definitely fun."

Greg smiled. "You were wonderful. I'll be in touch soon to let you know if you've been cast." He looked away, and then back again with a twinkle in his eye. "But I think you have a pretty good chance."

Abbie smiled. "Really? Wow, that means so much. Thank you! Oh, this will be so fun!" She jumped off the stage and into the aisle. "Thanks again!"

Abbie danced barefoot up the aisle and through the door back out to the lobby.
