The arguments start to pile up

It took longer than you would have liked for Jennifer to get back home, from wherever she'd gone. You stayed on the couch, watching TV, but quietly lowered the volume as you saw Marcus rise from his chair and walk over to her. The stopped as he approached, and after a moment addressed him. "I'm...sorry. For just leaving like that. I needed time to clear my head."

The first words out of Marcus's mouth made you want to jump for joy. "Did you...reconsider what we talked about? I know it sounds strange at first, but trust me, it will be amazing once you try it." The desperation in his voice was perfect.

"No, Marcus." Her voice was soft, tired, with just a hint of annoyance. "I'm going to work on dinner."

With that, she seemed to think the conversation was over. And it was...for a while. She did make dinner as promised, the two of them ate at the table while you considered how long it would take for her to crack. Marcus didn't say anything else about his fetish, it seemed from the outside like any other meal between the happy couple.

At least, until the evening. You found excuses to be outside their room after they withdrew for the night, trying to overhear when their next argument would be, and found yourself wishing you had hypnotized them both so that they would always talk loud enough to hear you. Though...all that shouting would be annoying.

Still, when the fireworks went off, you were very much able to hear. "No!" came Jennifer's voice, ever so clearly. "Can we just have sex? I want to be with you, not Dustin!" Even as she spoke, there was a slight warble to her voice, a hint to you that maybe she was trying to tell herself that as much as she was telling her husband.

You didn't heart how Marcus responded, but that was the last drama of the night. Which meant eagerly waiting for the next day, to see what treasures it would bring you.
