The aftermath of Broderick being the father

{if gamemode=true}You try to keep Broderick from finding out about the pregnancy but of course he does. You can’t hide something like that when everyone knew he slept with your wife at the time of conception. Broderick was overjoyed at the news and was excited to become a dad.

One night, about 3 months after “the incident”, Veronica and Broderick sit you down to have a talk. “We both think it would be great if Broderick moved in with us to help take care of his baby,” your wife tells you.

“What? No way!” you protest.

“I’ll be able to save on rent, so more money to spend on the baby,” Broderick says.

“He’ll sleep in the guest room, which is right next to the baby’s room so he can help take care of it,” your wife adds. “It really is the only sensical thing to do.”

“But, but…” you stammer.

“I have a right to see and live with my child,” Broderick says sternly.

“You can’t take that away from him,” your wife says in full agreement.

You can see that they have obviously talked this over beforehand behind your back. Against their united front you can tell you have no other option than to concede. They weren't going to take no for an answer. This wasn’t a conversation asking you how you felt about it, it was one telling you what was going to happen.

Once you finally give up your wife says, “Good. Now that that is settled, please give Broderick a hand,” as she motions you out the front door where you find a u-haul truck already parked. Broderick had already moved out of his apartment and you have to help him move into yours. The speed at which this happened really blindsided you.

You sweat as you move all of his crap in. Broderick started by working with you but after the couple things that needed two people, you find that he has stopped helping and is inside quietly chatting with your wife. The stop their conversation whenever you get close. You don’t like where this is going.

Over the next couple months you find them constantly together, whispering to each other and making sure you can never overhear. They seem like two lovers constantly flirting. Your wife tells you it is nothing and just in your head. She says he just wants to be around his baby that is growing in her.

It comes as no surprise when one night, after a long tiring shift at work, you come home to hear the same rhythmic squeaking of bed springs as you heard that one fateful night. You go upstairs to your bedroom and find the door already slightly ajar. You peek in and see Veronica and Broderick having sex in your marital bed. You sigh in acceptance as you clearly saw this coming.

You go to the guest room as you just want to lie down. You see they have moved your clothes in and Broderick’s out. You realize you did not accidentally catch them in the act, they made sure to be having sex when they knew you always got home and to leave the door open so you saw. It was their way of telling you that there were going to be some changes in this house.

From then on the guest room was your room. You would fall asleep each night to the sounds of them making love. You knew you would never have sex with Veronica again. You would watch the video you made of the night their child was conceived over and over as you listened to him fucking her. But there was only so much you could take. A month before the baby was born, you moved out into a shabby apartment.

The next month your wife gave birth to a health baby girl. You demanded a DNA test which of course came back proving Broderick was the father. Your divorce was finalized less than a year later and the two were married the next day. Broderick had hired Albert as your wife's divorce attorney as he had just finished top of his class in law school and had opened his own practice. He was a very good attorney and your wife got pretty much everything in the divorce including the house, but you still got left paying the mortgage on it for the next 28 years. In addition, since you were the legal husband at the time of the birth, you were on the hook for child support until their daughter was 18 which took a full half of your paycheck just on its own. And whats more, since Broderick was the biological father you had no rights or anything to the child. You didn’t think it was remotely fair and you have no idea how they got the judge to agree to it, but Albert was a very good lawyer.

You live in poverty for the rest of your life, almost all of your money going to Broderick, your ex-wife, and their family. You never date again as you never could get over Veronica, the love of your life. You follow them on social media and watch as they have two boys and another girl together. They never want for money as you paid for the house and also paid them very generous child support payments. You see their social media posts of their happy family going on great vacations. You watch their family grow over the years and wonder to yourself if that could have been your life. Their sons grow up to be spitting images of Broderick and you wonder if they would have looked just like you instead if you and Veronica had stayed together.
