The Wounded Lands Of Luminara (Dark Fantasy)

War has broken this land and its people, the life expectancy of the average human is 35 and the other races aren’t faring much better.

Peace is but a pipe dream here, a child’s fancy of a perfect world that will never come to pass, in this world the skies burn and the rivers run red.

Magic is wild in these lands, present in all beings but it seems especially potent in women, causing them to naturally rise to the top of their station in this world of battlefield prowess and social engineering.

There’s many factions at play in the Wounded Lands, each vying for control of a dying realm to name them all would be nigh impossible, all anyone really cares about are the real powers, the ones that control much more then trifling cities.

Humanity can be found everywhere, with little unity amongst the barbarian tribes and the city states that once comprised their great, sprawling empire.

The Elves of Aradil hold much of the southern lands, ripe with jungles and forests, they’ve largely played a defensive role in the conflict, trying to hold on to all that they have and are slowly being pushed back by their many enemies.

The Dwarven kings have divided much of the western mountain peaks amongst themselves, despite their small numbers they have scarcely lost territory to foreign powers thanks in large part to their mastery of the sciences.

The Horde has been a blight on the world since it’s inception, goblin hunting parties, great orc hosts laying siege to entire cities and ogres crushing border towns, these are the tools of their trade.

The Deadlands are host to something even worse; a ravenous army of teeth and claws, a tidal wave of bones, the slow **** of all things, The Dread Empire.

Even the tides of the abyss appear to have joined the fray as dark orders have cropped up in nearly all civilized societies, killing their enemies slowly from within like a cancer.

The only thing these disparate factions share is their mutual hatred for each other.
