The Worst Witch

It was a truly momentous occasion. For the first time, the whole of the newly expanded glitch crew were assembled together in one place, all fully sized and fully human. Well all excluding the rabbit girl in the yellow cap. Still, It felt like a tangible sign of progress. The only absentee was Tania, but most saw her as a glitch in name only. If it wasn't for the TV companies meddling, she would never have been allowed to set foot in the mansion again.

Sophie had been swamped with hugs from her friends as she and rabbit girl Abi had entered the room ,hand in paw, now that she was big enough for that to be possible.

"It's so nice to finally have you back to your old self!" Melanie told her closest friend.

"Tell me about it. I think I'm still the smallest here, but at least it's only by an inch or two now and not by nearly five feet!" Sophie joked.

Nari had also caused quite a stir as she had walked in with Anna, now completely naked except for a pair of pink headphones. It was obvious she was going to be an amazing piece of eye candy for the viewers. Noelle walked over and introduced herself with a wink.

"Sorry I missed you earlier gorgeous, I had a busy night last night. Now excuse me if I get a little handsy for a moment!"

The witch patted the gamer girl down as if she were inspecting her at an airport before calling out to Chantelle "Another mid-ranger!"

Chantelle then scribbled something on a piece of paper on the notice board as Nari gave Anna a confused look.

"It's okay, that's the same as me. It's nothing to worry about" Anna squeezed her roommate supportive squeeze of the shoulder.

Noelle then went and stood with Chantelle, Cassie and Lucy at the front of the room. Lucy wasn't normally part of the leadership group, but sometimes joined them when TV matters were due to be discussed.

"Okay glitches, first of all a huge welcome to Nari and an even bigger welcome back to full sized Sophie!" Chantelle began, prompting loud cheers and applause from around the room "Now we need to discuss what is going to happen next"

"I have spoken to the TV company and Tania, the real Tania, needs to be here by close of play on Friday to sign the contract" Lucy explained "Thankfully that is LA time, which gives us until around midnight"

"That means we have just over three days until we effectively go to war with Rebecca" Cassie took her turn to speak "Noelle and Maggie are working on a plan to help neutralise Rebecca, but we don't know how long that will hold for and we have to assume she is still going to be dangerous"

"So I need my witches to be working overtime to make sure you are all ready for this" Noelle spoke next "I don't want to see you separated from either your practice partners or your wands for the next 72 hours"

"Except there is one complication" Lucy added "The TV company wants two glitches for a talk show in New York tomorrow night"

"A couple of the mid-rangers should go" Maggie suggested.

"I'm happy to do it!" Jenny called out.

"Me too!" Olivia added. raising her hand

Before long most of those ranked in the middle ground for magical susceptibility had their arms up in the air hopefully.

"I'm afraid it doesn't work like that" Lucy gestured for everyone to lower their hands and quieten down "With the amount we're being paid we're pretty much the station's bitches when it comes to decisions like this. They have asked for Barbie and Mel"

"Oh, that should be fun!" Barbie reacted happily.

"What? I don't want to do a talk show naked!" Mel complained "And I'm supposed to stay here and practice!"

"At least they didn't ask for Tania" Julianne realised.

"No, they have her down for the premiere of the new Jason Statham movie in Los Angeles next week" Lucy revealed.

"What? That jammy little bitch!" Laura moaned.

"How long am I going to be away for?" Mel wondered with a sigh.

"They will have you there and back in 24 hours" Lucy tried to console her friend.

"That's still a third of my practice time before everything kicks off gone" Mel fretted "I'm going to be the worst witch, like in that kids TV programme"

"Mildred Hubble!" Sophie, an avid fan of that show in her childhood, called out helpfully "And I think you'll find she was invariably the one who ended up saving the day!"

"Yeah, usually by accident" Mel crossed her arms sulkily.

"No way will you be the worst witch, you can already teleport people with objects" Lexie called out supportively "The worst will probably be Laura"

"I suggest you take that back, unless you want to start lactating like a prize winning dairy cow!" Laura pointed her wand at Lexie and winked at her friend playfully,

"Okay, I know that was a joke between buddies, but no magical threats!" Noelle interjected "I have seen those situations escalate. Magic is a gift to be taken seriously"

"Listen y'all, I know this isn't ideal, but we knew what we were letting ourselves in for when we agreed to the deal." Chantelle took back control of proceedings "We are probably in the best place now that we've been in since this whole mess began. I have faith in you all. Let's do what we always do best and work together to get shit done!"
