The Woods

So far everything was going smoothly, You had gotten through to the city outskirts without being seen, seemingly out of dumb luck considering how awkward it was to carry Rose and jump several feet in the air. however, after much effort, You were now walking along the same grassy hill that You had been at the night before, the comfort of the young night sky above You "Not long now..." You reassured Rose who lay her head, half-**** on your shoulder.

Rose began to mumble incoherently, muttering deliriously as You crossed through the dark woods; her eyes open and her voice but a whisper "V....V...Val...Valerica...please, c-come home..." she muttered softly, a pleading tone that sounded completely alien coming from her lips "Why...Why?" She said in a breathy voice "H-Haven't you....hurt him....enough?" You frowned. You were already caught off guard by how soft she sounded, how utterly sincere and sad her words were, but "Haven't You hurt him enough?" It wasn't a pleasant thing to hear.

You had been moving quickly, not fast enough to cause Rose any discomfort, injuring her further was the last thing You wanted to do, however something caught on Your enhanced senses making You stop in Your tracks, Someone is coming, fast! You thought, setting Rose just bellow one of the large trees, ensuring that she was secure and comfortable before turning to guard her.

Claws extended and Teeth bore, You were ready to fight, Was it Val? come to finish the job?

A thousand things went through Your mind, Is this it, am I going die here, in the woods protecting some Girl I barely know... Despite coming off of as a little hostile and weird, she had been helping You, directing You towards the Library, teaching You to hunt, Rose was the only one that You really felt had been active in helping You adjust, because in reality, what had the Gerix been doing? they saved You from Valerica sure but after that... things had just felt wrong with them, confining you to an empty room, avoiding telling You the truth about Your nature... Here she comes.

Emerging from the shadows of the city of trees around You, came Cleo, not Valerica... You dropped Your guard as the Black-haired vixen approached, "Here you are." She said as she got closer, though as Rose came into view She paused "What happened?"

"Valerica happened. We have to get Her to the Hotel and get her some help" An uncertain expression came across her face; a deep discomfort "We need to talk." You raised an eyebrow "Cleo, she's badly hurt, maybe internally bleeding, we can talk later!" in a hurry, You went to take Rose back into Your arms, but halted as Cleo spoke, "They aren't going help her, Charles."

"I'm sorry, what?" You could feel the beast stirring in You again, Anger like bait on a hook, coaxing him out, She backed away as she sensed it, You frowned sadly "...Sorry." You said calming Yourself a little "I don't know what I'm doing, alright, I need help." Cleo pressed her lips together nervously, looking at You and then to Rose "I will do what I can to ease her pain for now, but while I do that You need to listen to me and listen well. deal?" Your eyes trailed over to Rose, laying half-awake and delirious on the ground, You nodded "Okay, I'll listen."
