The Weaver's Chosen

There exists a cosmic **** called the Great Web of Life and Destiny whose physical manifestation exists somewhere on Earth-001. Not only does it transcend the multiverse itself but serves as its map. This web serves as the connective tissue binding the dimensions together; it holds past, present, future, and all other dimensions in place. It is also a lifeline to all totemic spider avatars, warning 1 should the totem be in any danger. The warning could manifest as a sensation within the Each strand of the web was a physical manifestation of a timeline with each node serving as a singular universe within Infinity himself. Its pattern would often change whenever a new universe formed, or a timeline would branch from another then coalesce into a whole reality.

For millennia The Master Weaver, as its title implies, weaves the Web of Life and Destiny since its creation by Neith the Goddess of Spiders. However, it is just 1 of many deific spider-totems alongside the Scion, the Gatekeeper, the Patternmaker, the Bride, and the Other of whom likes to choose its host; currently it is eyeing Peter Parker II of Earth 616. Other Spider-totems can use the Web of Fate to create totemic avatars for themselves out of mortals. The current Master Weaver is a former leech-totem that maintains the integrity of the Great Web of Fate. Formerly known as Karn, and the host to the Weaver. Because spiders are predators by nature and thus, the living avatars for this specific animal spirit MUST have something that could make them a natural hunter. These hunters are protectors of the Web itself.

“This strand of the Web is interesting, this 1 has potential…after all…there are not many of these blended universes; let me see…hm…she is but a child…still she will do…Jessica…Drew…yes, she always did make a fine totem,” spoke the being in a red mask with mechanical spider-legs, “Now let us observe several years…yes, here’s another 1…I know him, well…he will make a FINE champion…yes, the experimenting of the Celestials with some of Plathora’s creations has always yielded strange worlds.”

The spiders he and the web chose will have plenty of heroes to emulate. It could only hope that Solus and the rest of the Inheritors did not travel to this world, and those like it for conquest of all creation was their goal. The mere fact there was more than they knew existed was quite worrisome. The fact there were powerful beings that possessed weaknesses to magick and the supernatural does not help. However, this world had more than demons like Satanus, Lady Blaze, or Mephisto residing in Hell. There were mutants like Azrael that could help battle Mephistopheles. So, deals with him would not be as numerous.

Somewhere on the base of a Beyonder or 1-From-Beyond as he liked to call himself; there was a figure who loved to watch how things would play out in his twisted experiments. Along with this mysterious individual, was a frail old woman sitting in an odd chair she was a mutant seer. Watching the pattern of the Great Web change before her blind eyes like all of her variations. It made her wonder what would happen to this strand of the Web. She was not serving as this Beyonder’s assistant for nothing, for now at least.

“Hmm…this is strange,” voiced Cassandra Webb of Earth-616.

She was not sure, but this strand happened to have something different than the usual strand has. Oh well such was the nature of a multiverse, or this case, an omniverse. Just then, the 1-From-Beyond approached from behind her.

“Tell me, Madame Web,” spoke the Beyonder, he was 1 of several, “what is it that you see?”

“It appears the Master Weaver has set his sights on 1 of the Celestials’ universe blending experiments,” explained the elderly mutant.

“Do not worry Webb,” the cosmic ‘scientist’ said, “Hasn’t the Weaver shown its wisdom before?”

She nodded, “You are correct.”

“Just focus on the totems of Earth-616 and leave that world to its Madame Web,” assured the 1-from-beyond.

The questions were surrounding this reality were boundless, just what kind of spider would deliver its fateful bite and just whom the target was. There was plenty of possibilities for this world, so who knew. It certainly would not be surprising with the likes of Kitty Pryde or Kim Possible serving in their worlds.
