Jane wasn't quite sure about this as Liara turned up the music, many of the guests either hitting the bar or the dance floor. Being trapped around all her friends and coworkers wearing only a toga was bad enough, but the addition of Aria?
Jane took a deep breath. At least nobody seemed to realize that she was going commando. And if they did, they were at least keeping it to themselves...
An hour later, Jane looked around and saw Tali and Garrus on the dance floor together as Miranda cheered on Jack as the tattooed woman howled in victory after beating a drunken Vega in arm wrestling, the dark haired woman embracing her fiancee before dragging her to the dance floor.
Joker was sitting on the couch flirting with EDI, the AI having connected herself into a potato for her costume. Apparently something Joker got but was lost on Jane.
Surprisingly true to her word, Aria was acting civil. Well, relatively so, fiven that she was currently embarrassing both Tevos and Samara by discussing the latters dominatrix coustume.
Jane was about to head over to Liara at the drink table when yet another ring of the doorbell sounded off.
"Odd... Liara said everyone she invited already showed up." Jane muttered to herself as she turned to the door. A second later, she slapped her forhead. "Duh! Trick 'or Treaters! Better let them know there's no candy here."
Jane headed over to the door and opened it to reveal... No one.
Confused, the redhead stepped out into the night air, looking around for any sign of the ding-dong ditcher. She could hear footsteps moving around, but she didn't -
*THUNK!*
"What the?!" Jane barked, turning around to see the door closed behind her. She reached for the knob and turned... Only to find it locked!
"Oh for crying out loud!" Jane groaned as she rang the doorbell.
"Well, Jack and I were thinking of having the wedding sometime in the summer." Miranda said as she, Jack, Tali, and Garrus sat on the couch after they finished dancing. "Haven't quite planned the honeymoon yet."
"Well, I'm sure it will be wonderful." Tali commented with a smile. "You know, Garrus and I were quite surprised when you two were the first to announce their engagement."
"Yeah, we thought for sure Shepard and Liara would be the first of us getting married." Garrus added with a nod. "Not that we're not happy for you two, of course."
"By the way, Jack, where did you learn to do make up like that?" Tali asked.
"Oh, now there's actually a funny story behind that." Jack chuckled, sitting down her beer. "So, Miri and I were at this couple's resort last summer, right? And this stuck up bitch comes out of nowhere and talks shit about Miranda right in her face and in front of me! So I turn to her and -"
"Hold on a second." Miranda interrupted, holding up a hand to silence the other three as she listened closely. A second later, she shook her head. "Sorry, I thought I heard a ringing noise. Please continue, Jack."
"Seriously?!" Jane snapped, pounding on the door with her fist as a part of her wished she hadn't bought a door that could withstand biotic blasts.
"I'm not much of a music fan," Samara said as she and Samantha danced, "but Earth music really has a good beat."
"I'll say! Liara certainly knows how to set up a soundtrack!" Samantha said with a laugh as she twirled the snake around, not noticing a few leaves fall off her bra and panties. "Almost sounds like someone's using a door for a bass."
"Ugh!" Jane groaned as she pinched the bridge of her nose. "Great. Well, at least the backdoor is most likely unlocked."
Taking a deep breath, Jane took a step forward... And instantly paled as she felt a tug on her toga.
"Oh no." She whispered.
Inside, Kasumi smirked as she filmed Jane from the window, using her cloaking as a costume.
"Not invite me to your Halloween Party, huh, Shepard?" The thief asked under her breath. "Well, let's see if you're thinking the same once everyone sees the full moon."
