The Tower of the Succubus

(An idea for a longer story I started writing, but made it a mess with game mechanics. This one will be more straightforward.)

Kylie was at the top of the tower. That's what he'd been told, anyways. Ark was the strongest knight in the realm and was known for protecting humanity against any threats. However, one day, he found his wife missing with the only thing to go on being a note that said she would be here.

"Welcome, hero," a soft, seductive voice whispered into his mind. "I'm decided to put together a little test for you. You'll need to make it through my tower, reach me, and save your beloved wife."

"What's the catch?" He asked aloud.

"I have some very special guards on duty. If you fall to any of them, or to me, you can consider that the the of your life as you know it. Of course, you can always just join me and become mine."

"Like hell I would ever do that!" The thought was utterly appalling to him. He would never side with infernals, no matter what. He was also a bit worried about how she'd phrased her words and what she was getting at here. This was an unknown trial with an unknown enemy. He has faced bad odds before, but would this really be worth the uphill battle? It might be safer and easier to just meet her demands. His wife would be safe and that's all that mattered.
