A Portent Of What’s To Come
The Sun Falls Over The Horizon
As the sun slowly dips from the sky, shadows slowly descend upon the city casting a darkness that only the twinkling stars above can alleviate.
For the better part of the day Riley and their new Mommy had been curled up together on the couch like a pair of teenagers enjoying a movie, Catherine’s hands roaming free along her daughters smooth hairless body, lovingly rubbing each curve the newly christened girl has to offer.
They’re only broken from this spell by a low rumble emanating from Riley’s belly eliciting a chuckle from the older woman.
“Mmmm I’m getting a bit peckish myself, baby girl…” Catherine says slowly trailing off before a light bulb flashes in her mind, smiling wide as she sits up a little in her chair.
“What say I take you out on the town~? Just you and me, a night to remember~” she says, her voice taking on a sultry purr as she tries to coax Riley into it.
“Y.. you wanna go… out there…? L.. like this…?” Asked Riley, apprehension lacing their voice as they stared into the sparkling eyes of their owner.
“It’ll be SO much fun baby, I can take you out on our first date~ a nice dinner, maybe a movie~? You’ll love it!” She says steadily growing more excited over the prospect.
“B… but… what if someone we know… sees us…?” Asks Riley, the source of their hesitation made plain as Catherine’s smile falters a little bit.
“Then… let them see us..! They’ll see how happy we make each other! Trust me, anyone who knows me, knows how lucky a girl I am to have claimed you~” she says, giving Riley a soft kiss on the tip of their nose.
“Well… can I at least change first…?” Riley could withstand the ridicule of being claimed by their mother, plenty of people do that kinda thing but to know that he had to give up his manhood in order to achieve an already embarrassing goal? He’d never live it down!
The smile falls from Catherine’s face in its entirety, replaced by the look she always had when she’d reprimand Riley when they were being unreasonable.
“Darling… you agreed to be my little girl, not just at home but ALL of the time, I thought you understood that…”
“I… I just… this is all happening so fast… and I meant what I said but… can’t we just keep it at home… for now…?”
Riley liked the way they felt in these clothes, they LOVED how happy it made their long suffering mother, the woman who seemingly gave everything to provide for them but what would the neighbors say? What would the bully’s at school say?
Catherine could sense the inner turmoil of her baby girl, which is why she had to put her foot down, she needed to show her baby there was nothing to fear.
Her voice though still warm became more firm, more demanding as she gently takes Riley’s chin between two fingers and raise their head to look into her eyes.
“I am not asking you as your mother, I am TELLING you as your Mistress, we are going out tonight, is this understood?”
All Riley could do was make a small subservient whimper. Riley had never seen this side of their mother, sure she had gotten frustrated before and even angry but she was always so even keeled, so warm and loving. THIS was what it meant to be her property, THIS is what it meant to belong to her.
Her lips return to that serene smile she had always carried, leaning in to press a gentle kiss to Riley’s lips, as though to smooth out any ruffled feathers or hurt feelings.
“You are beautiful baby, I won’t let you shut yourself away and deny what you are, as your mistress I promised to never lie to you but also to refuse to let you lie to yourself… this is who you are, you need to accept it” she says laying out the facts, taking care not to be harsh on the poor thing in her lap.
“Come on princess, let’s get going, I know just the place to take you” she says, rising to her feet while still holding her submissive in her arms before collecting shoes for the both of them and heading out to the car.
———————————————————————
The ride to the restaurant is a strange one, while quiet, Catherine seemed far from mad, her hand gently traveling to Riley’s thigh when at stop signs and red lights, seemingly just enjoying the atmosphere of the quiet night drive, windows down letting the warm breeze in with the radio playing some sappy romantic tune about forbidden love.
The car pulls up to a diner, one that they’ve driven past a thousand times before, the blinking neon sign reading “Pie & Paradise” the parking lot was empty save for a couple of cars presumably belonging to the staff.
“Wait here baby” Catherine says before hopping out of the car and walking around the front to open Riley’s door, offering her arm like a proper gentlemen courting some fair maiden which frankly, spoke to the romantic in Riley.
With a big dopey grin Riley steps out of the car, linking arms with their mother, giving the expression of a pair of love birds out on a romantic night together which Riley supposed was true enough.
The door opens with a gentle ding of a bell, signaling the arrival of possibly the first customers of the night.
Looking around it’s readily apparent that the restaurant has styled itself after diners in the 50s black and white checkered tile sprawls across the floor, each of the booths and stools are adorned with cheery red cushioning with white seams, there’s even a juke back on the far side of the restaurant that seems to be playing some old school rock and roll that Riley doesn’t recognize.
Catherine takes a moment to look around before taking Riley to a booth closest to the jukebox towards the back of the diner.
A waitress pokes her head out of the kitchen, seemingly surprised to be receiving a customer before she jogs over, a great big smile on her face.
“Hey y’all! Welcome to Pie and Paradise, what can I get ya lovely ladies tonight?” She says mistaking Riley for a girl making her cheeks flush but also, strangely making them feel gratified.
Catherine smirking orders for them both. “I’ll have a salad and my little lady here will have grilled cheese and a slice of chocolate pie if you have any!” She says, beaming happily before the waitress walks off.
Something about the way Catherine ordered for them really spoke to Riley but they couldn’t understand why, she’s about to ask how she knew what pie they wanted when she stops, noticing the way Catherine seems to be soaking in the atmosphere of the restaurant, sensing the echos of the past.
“Making you nostalgic~?” Teased Riley, earning a small smirk from their date across the table.
“I will have you know that I am not THAT old… but yes.. me and your father used to come here… listen to ‘in the still of the night’ it was… well… there’s a lot of memories here…” she says, emotion slowly filling her voice, first joy before grief replaces it before she cuts it out entirely with a small sniffle, forcing the memories out.
“Tell me more about her…” Riley says, sensing that the subject had so much emotion wrapped around it, truth is; Riley knew that their mother never really got over the passing of their father, honestly neither did Riley, but at least they don’t have the curtesy of holding all those memories.
“Well… it’s hardly an appropriate topic for a first date..” she says trying to sidestep the conversation with a joke but Riley didn’t back down, gently they sat there, waiting for an answer.
“We… we met young… in elementary school… I… I could always tell she was different… she didn’t like sports… or video games… she liked to play with me and my dolls… we’d make up these ridiculous stories about the goings on of these made up characters… and… well… we connected…” Catherine says, her eyes looking through Riley and into the vast void of days long past.
“How did you guys start dating…? Dad never said…” prods Riley, sure Riley had been fed some line about how Catherine had asked them to prom and they never left each others side sense but it always felt so… shallow, so many details were missing and so many more that just didn’t fit together.
Catherine chuckles, as she recollects the memory, clearly having the events of that day tattooed into her mind as a core memory; the day she truly knew happiness.
“Well we had been friends for some time when high school rolled around… we spent so much time together that everyone at school thought I had claimed her but… no… to be honest I was not always the beacon of confidence I am today…”
“Well… I was stopping by her house to pick something up that I forgot during a sleep over and when I got to her room… I saw her… the REAL her…” she says, stars in her eyes as she begins to gush over the details.
“Oh Riley… she was so beautiful… more beautiful then any woman or futa I had ever seen… she… she was wearing her sisters panties, a cute little thing with ribbons and frills on it… she said she’d do anything for me to keep her secret but… all I wanted was her… I promised her… I promised I’d never… ever let her go… that I’d… I’d…” Riley could see tears well up in Catherine’s eyes, her hand trembling as she covers her mouth, trying to suppress a mournful sob.
She’s broken from her memory induced spell, her green eyes slowly scanning the room as though seeing ghosts of the past, she said a lot of memories were wrapped up in this place and Riley believes her as she’s barely able to compose herself as she stood from her seat.
“I’m so sorry baby… this is was a terrible idea… I… I’ll be in the car…” she says, fast walking towards the door.
Riley hops up as well, they had to do something, anything, this couldn’t be how the night ends, they couldn’t bear to let the night spoil for their mother.
On the other side of the booth Riley spots Catherine’s purse, having been left behind as she abandoned the booth; quickly rifling inside they pull free a quarter, no, a chance.
Riley rushes to the jukebox, pushing it into the slot and pressing the button as fast as they could until they find their mark before slamming play so hard they fear they might have broken the machine.
Catherine is about to reach the door, cursing herself for her foolishness; how could she think this was a good idea? How could she think that she could come her and drag her daughter into her pathetic attempt to move on?
Then she hears it, the instrumental, a soft piano leading into the crooning of ‘The Five Satins’ she knew it by heart, hell it was the soundtrack of her dreams of better days when all that matter was HER.
She turns, the tears still fresh on her face, ruining her mascara and surely making her look like a mad woman as she spots her daughter, arms outstretched, inviting her into that warm embrace.
“Care for a dance…? I’m no good at it but I have enthusiasm…!” Offers Riley, a coy smile on their face, preying that the night could be salvaged.
“I…. I….” Catherine can’t come up with the words, she can’t think to do much of anything but accept, quietly approaching and joining the embrace, her hands gently holding Riley’s waist as Riley placed their hands on her shoulders.
Riley’s smile blossoms into a childish grin, one that can’t help but infect Catherine as her lips curl into a smile as well as they gently sway back and forth.
“Oh sweetie… I… I’m so sorry-” she begins before Riley cuts her off, not interested in seeing their lover brought any lower.
“Don’t… you did nothing wrong… I… I shouldn’t have asked about that…”
“B.. but… this isn’t about the past… this isn’t about me.. it’s about us.. you were so brave coming here with me… I need to be brave for you now… I owe you that much…” continued Catherine, needing to make her feelings known to her lover.
Riley nods their head softly, accepting what she had to say before gently leaning in, resting their head upon their mother’s breast in a tender moment of silent love.
The waitress comes back, none the wiser to what’s transpired as she quietly sets the food on the table before retreating back to the kitchen.
When the song ends they stay like that for a minute longer, simply basking in the warmth of their union before finally letting go.
This time Riley opts to sit alongside Catherine, resting their head on her shoulder in between bites.
Not much is said for the rest of the meal as nothing needs saying, they’ve entered a strange territory where their minds are nearly one and the same.
When the check comes, Catherine pays, leaving a generous tip before leading her little girlfriend out to the car, both of them understanding the only place they need to be is home.
They walk arm in arm to the door, once inside Riley feels arms wrap around their waist, pulling them tight into Catherine’s body, her lips gently pressed to Riley’s ear as she speaks.
“Baby… tonight has meant so much to me… I understand if you’re uncomfortable with doing it so early but… baby…” she says, finding the courage to speak her desires.
“I want to make a woman out of you tonight…~” she says, the primal desire lacing her words leaving no doubts as to the validity of such a claim.
Riley’s heart skips a beat, their skin feels like it’s burning up beneath her clothes as she shivers in their mother’s arms. They say the only thing they can think to say, the only thing that feels right.
“Yes Mommy…~”
