The Star

Leia kisses you. "You come back to me, Luke. I need you," she says before she rushes off to the command center.

You put on your flight suit and head out to the hanger. The base is a bustle of activity. You were glad for the time with Leia. She calmed your nerves. As you walk toward the X-Wing fighter you've been assigned, a voice echoes in your ears. "You've been naughty, Luke." It sounded like Ben. You look around and no one is near enough to have spoken to you.

You see Han loading several chests of what you assume are valuables into the Falcon. "They could use a good pilot like you. You're turning your back on them," you say.

"What good's a reward if you ain't around to use it? Besides, attacking that battle station ain't my idea of courage. It's more like... suicide," Han retorts.

"All right. Well, take care of yourself, Han. I guess that's what you're best at, isn't it?"

"Hey, Luke... may the **** be with you," he says, sincerely.

Techs are lifting R2 into his place behind the cockpit. You climb in and start up the engines as the ground crew tows the ship toward the hanger door. Everyone clears the area and dozens of fighters begin taking off.

Soon you are flying toward the **** Star, a terrible sight ahead of you. Before long you are shooting down TIE fighters and dodging turbo-cannons. You try your best to keep the fighters away from the bombers, but there are just too many fighters. First, one bomber wing dies, then the other one does. It's your turn to make a bombing run. You take your wing with you.

You are followed by TIE fighters including a suped-up version that an itch in the back of your head tells you is Darth Vader. Wedge has to pull out of the trench from damage and Biggs dies when a TIE fighter shoots his fighter.

You set up the targeting computer to prepare to launch your torpedos. The voice of Obi-Wan echoes in your mind, "Use the ****, Luke! Trust your feelings!" You turn off the computer.

Suddenly, one of the TIE fighters next to Vader explodes for laser fire, knocking Vader's ship into a spin into the blackness.

"Woohoo!" Han Solo shouts. "Okay, kid, now let's blow this thing and go home!"

You launch your torpedos when your gut tells you it's right. You see your torpedos go down the port. You pull up and climb out of the trench headed back to Yavin Base.

Once you get out of range, just before the massive weapon fires, the **** Star explodes!
