Chapter 5 by DoubleRocket DoubleRocket

Did the writing take effect?

The Sky Cell door opens…

Tyrion waited for what must have been hours, but felt like days. He sighed, figuring that his small hope of this book having the kind of power it said it had was nothing more than another falsehood…

Then he heard the lock of the door clank, before it swung open… and in walked Lady Catelyn Stark herself.

Tyrion almost muttered out a loud “Huh” as he saw her, his logical mind not fully believing this would happen. But he still took precautions, taking his book and holding it behind his back to hide it from view. A rather childish maneuver but he didn’t have many other options.

He shook his head, rubbed his eyes, trying to see or prove that he was seeing things due to his imprisonment. But he wasn’t. She was there, wrapped in a beautiful blue grey dress with her Tully red hair draped over her shoulders. She was mature, but hardly past her beauty. Come to think of it, even he had not dared make such observations in the presence of Lord Stark, but her tits concealed beneath the fabric seemed… larger?

Well just because she was here didn’t mean good news. Perhaps she wanted to inform he was being hung or flung to his **** with no trial. Her being here didn’t necessarily mean she was here with an apology…

“Ah. Lord Tyrion, you are awake. That is good. I… I have come with an apology.” Catelyn said, her stern motherly voice trying to cloak the sound of embarrassment.

Meanwhile, Tyrion felt like his heart had skipped a beat. An apology? Just like that?

“Lady Stark? Whatever could you mean?” Tyrion replied, playing dumb. He didn’t want to jump to conclusions too soon.

“I… I have reconsidered my accusations against you. You have no motive to try and hurt Bran, and it is indeed far too convenient a knife belonging to you was used for the attempt on my Son’s life… and after speaking to you about it on the road I can find no reason that you would do such a thing. Thus, I have come personally to inform you that you are being released, and that… I am sorry.” She spoke.

There was that missing heartbeat again. Tyrion was in complete disbelief. He’d been waiting here in this cell for so long, nearly certain he’d be killed for someone else’s foolishness… and now here he was. Being released just like that. Was this some kind of overwhelming coincidence… or did the book he was clenching behind his back really have some kind of power?

“I thank you, Lady Stark, for seeing the error of your ways. And I generously accept your apology.” Tyrion replied, feeling the need to return the pleasantries despite his urge to gloat.

“I am glad. But please, follow me. My apology is not yet done…”

Oh. He’d almost forgotten about that second part he put in…

Does Tyrion follow Lady Catelyn?
