The Skrill (Bio-Engineered Weapon)

The Skrill are a Sentient and Highly-Intelligent Extraterrestrial Species Bred and Re-Engineered by The Taelons into Powerful Organic Weapons. Only an "Implant," Human Volunteers (most notably those working for Pan Global Security) fitted with a CVI can control a Skrill. The Taelons themselves referred to The Skrill as "Peace-Keepers… A Tool To Quell A Storm." A Human outfitted with a Skrill has been likened to a person walking around with a Nuclear Weapon attached to their arm.

Overview:

The Skrill are True Symbionts, becoming an appendage of its host's Central Nervous System which draws sustenance from its host's food intake, drawing on their host's energy in order to use their abilities which include the projection of extremely potent Offensive Blasts or Defensive Shields of Energy of level 9 Power and Above. Skrill energy blasts are variable in their output. They have the potential to stun or repel as well as kill. They can even disintegrate their targets.

However, constant use of a Skrill's energy blasts can lead to it's host growing excessively weaker with each blast due to the strain of firing multiple shots at high output or in rapid succession since it partially draws upon the energy reserves of it's host for nourishment and to use its power.

Without a CVI, The strain on The Skrill Host's Nervous System would increase exponentially and They would become susceptible to influence by their Skrill. It takes roughly an hour for a Skrill and Host to acclimate to each other... The Skrill for instance has a much higher body temperature than a Human under normal circumstances but once the bond becomes stable the two become indistinguishable from one another when scanned.

Each Skrill possesses it's own Distinctive Personality, Emotions, and Relationship with it's host. A Skrill isn’t a device to be mastered… One must form a relationship and though The Skrill "Mind" is very different than The Human Mind, it is possible for a host to communicate with their Skrill. Skrill communicate in several different ways: A Purring Type of Sound, Hissing Noises, and Bio-Luminescence but particularly in "Primitive and Irrational but Intensely Vivid" Dream Imagery. The Skrill possess an advanced genetic memory stretching back generations and they have even been known to share or pass on their knowledge, memories and experiences to their host.

Skrills are kept in Cyrogenic Storage until it is time for them to be bonded to a host which they are usually bonded to for life but they can be removed though doing so is dangerous to both Skrill and Host.

History:

The Skrill were originally a Sentient Alien Species that existed on their own world until the arrival of The Taelons. First contact between the two was disastrous as the creatures attacked The Taelons in a war of unending bloodshed. Decades after encountering them, The Taelons were finally able to subjugate and transform them into living organic weapons for use in The Taelons war against The Jaridians. At some unknown point, The Taelons also managed to capture The Skrill Queen. After arriving on Earth, The Taelons began to delegate the bio-engineering work to Humans. To support this process, The Skrill Development Center was established in New Capetown in South Africa which was responsible for the birthing of Skrills and the re-engineering of the species into weaponized implants. In order to continue the production of the implants, The Bio-Engineers on the project kept the Queen in a permanently pregnant state.

Another notable facility for the research of The Skrill is Cyberbiotics where Bio-Engineers developed the initial Alpha Series Skrill Prototype because The Alpha Series conforms so closely to the original organic template this series was endowed with a greater sense of self-awareness and an exceedingly powerful and violent instinct for self-preservation. Though in time, The Bio-Engineers of Cyberbiotics eventually developed a much more docile version of The Skrill called The Gamma Series, A Third Generation of Skrill still in use today.

Despite The Creation and Success of The Gamma Series, Cyberbiotics continued working on The Alpha and engineered six more series of Skrill (Delta, Epsilon, Theta, Kappa, Sigma, and Tau). However, The Alphas remained excessively aggressive and any further work on removing their violent instincts was eventually cancelled and The Taelons later placed the remaining Alphas in cryogenic storage.
