The Shift

1 Week Later...

I glanced across the room at my stepmother of sorts, Natalie, who was hard at work on a ‘bonding’ activity that she was being very tight lipped about. I was anxiously awaiting Riley’s return, and Cassie’s growing disinterest in having sex was really bothering me.

I hadn’t gotten laid in a week. Which might not sound like a lot, but pre-Cassidy, I got laid several times a week. Girls just hurled themselves at me. Sure, I could call up Iris or Julia and they could come and I could fuck their brains out. But I had realized during this week I wanted to have sex with one girl in particular: Emily Willis. My thoughts were never far from her. Even the fact that Emily’s sister has my baby growing inside her didn’t deter me.

The only real problem was Emily not wanting to get between me and Cassidy. I knew that my romance with Cassidy was nearing its close. It had been a fun few months, but at this point she was just cockblocking me from getting the girl I really wanted. Emily.

“And... done!” Natalie announced.

“With what?” I asked curiously, glancing over.

“My plans for... Apartment Wars!” Natalie beamed.

“Is that a HGTV show?” I frowned.

“What? No! It’s my bonding activity. The 30 apartments in the lower half of the Glades will each send a representative to compete. And there’s going to be randomized teams. So you could be teamed with anyone. We’re doing 10 teams of 3.” Natalie explained.

“Sounds cool.” I said, kissing Natalie on the cheek. She gave me a warm smile.

“I better announce the teams and the game, then.” Natalie said, and grabbed the intercom. She explained the rules and then said the teams will be revealed in an hour.

“Builds suspense.” she winked at me.

“How’d you pick the teams?” I asked.

“Weren’t you listening? I put the apartment numbers in a randomizer. And no, I’m not telling you who I’ve got you with.” Natalie teased. I grinned at her, and grabbed her by the hips and pushed up against the wall. She shuddered in delight.

“It’s been a long time since we did anything naughty.” Natalie shrugged innocently. I smirked and kissed her furiously, my hands pawing all over her body desperately.

“Is my baby boy sex deprived?” Natalie giggled, throwing her arms around my neck for a sizzling kiss. I nodded.

“Yes! Since Riley left it’s been a rough patch. Last time I got some was when I fucked Cassie’s mom!” I growled in frustration, and Natalie kissed me slower this time, soft and enchanting. I got lost in my stepmother’s lips and the feel of her body in my hands and against me, and we only broke apart when Natalie’s hour timer was up.

Both our lips were swollen from the hourlong make out session.

“Alright! I have the emails with the chosen representatives, and I am going to read out the teams.” Natalie said into the intercom.

“Team 1 is Cassidy Smoak, Maria Torres, and Angela Glass. Team 2 is Cole Campbell, Emily Willis, and Peggy Conners.” she continued, and I frowned. Who was Peggy Conners? After Natalie finished reading out the teams, I asked her about Peggy.

“She’s a resident who enjoys herself off the property.” Natalie shrugged. My phone buzzed with a group text, from Emily. The other person was a number I didn’t recognize.

“Meet up?” the text read, and I texted back affirmative.

“But, before we begin the Wars, I have a very troubling announcement. Due to recent financial decreases, Glade Apartment Complex is facing being bought out to be replaced with a shopping mall that’s growing around us. More information on that will be given as soon as I have it.” Natalie explained.
