The Sea of Cain

Your eyes flickered open... You weren't in Vulcan's studio, rice grain thin sand white as ivory pressed into your face, it was soft as a memory foam mattress, and the sound of the sea washed over your mind

"Get up." That voice... but... that was... "Get up, Charles, look at me."

You sat up slowly, seeing the beach that went on forever, it's marble white shore continuing infinitely as a sea of blood swept along its coast, You turned... and froze.

"D-Dad?" Roman held you by your shoulders, His silver eyes watching you keenly, his face frozen coldly, his black beard and midnight black hair waving in the light breeze

"Listen to me, kid. we don't have much time..."

"Nonsense!" Your head turned... there was a man you didn't recognise but did at the same time, He was dark and He wore a suit, his neck marked with a shadowed symbol, his eyes burning gold "You can stay as long as you need."

"Kvasir?" You said, drowned with confusion

"Don't look at him, don't talk to him, look at me." Your father commanded, and You obeyed, though your eyes welled as You saw that familiar look on his face

"D-Dad... you're... dead."

"I know, Son. and so are you... I'm sorry, I failed You, Valerica took her **** on me, through you, I... never meant for it to be like this, You were meant to stay human." He growled, eyes narrowing as He pictured her

"Dad, I have so many questions, about Mom, about Diana, about Me, about him." You pointed to Cain, who was grinning mischievously just behind your father

"Do not acknowledge him. Listen, You cannot stay here, this is his place, his Sea, the longer you are here, the easier it is for him to get through to you." Roman clicked his fingers at You "Listen to me kid, pay attention. You and Diana are special, descendants of Cain like I and Artorias, and all our ancestors before us. But You are different, You are More..."

"More? You mean, because Mom was a Vampire?" You asked

Roman grinned a little, touching your face "Smart lad. listen, He is cursed, My son. With all of his power, Cain is lost and broken, He is banished from **** and fragmented in time, this means that when He expires, He is reborn in certain points in time, these reincarnations of him are different, interchangeable, He can shed them and put them on like suits, puddle-jumping through time to find what He needs."

You blinked, looking up at Cain, who was smiling his devilish smile at You "He needs... me? Is that what You're saying?"

"Yes, He has descendants from those that birthed his children, and He grants undeath to those He bites, that is where it starts, son, with the Upir, his curse weakening more and more, from Supieror to the Leeches, that is why He needs you. You are his descendant, a source of Life everlasting, and Your mother was a Vampire; Immortal ****, understand? you are Life and ****... that mixed with Valerica adding her Upir blood to the Mix, well... all you'd need is to accept his blood, then You'd have the components necessary to take his power so that You might free him from his infinite ****. You are the Purest, My son." What Roman... what Your dad was saying, it was a whirlwind, a disorganised mess that sewed chaos in your mind.

The Blood of Cain, the Blood of undeath, the Bite of an Upir, and the Bite of a God.

"Oh Romi, I pull you out of limbo so that you can talk to the kid and ya spoil all my fun, how rude." Cain sighed, Roman, gripped your shoulders tightly, staring with a hard look in his silver eyes

"You cannot accept his Power, at any cost, You cannot free him, if you do then you will be cursed for all eternity, I and Your mother and Your grandfather did everything in our power to keep you safe from him, You can't accept it, promise me."

You looked into your father's eyes innocently "I... I promise."

"Good... Good..." Roman said, smiling at You with a rare warmth that You hadn't seen in a long time, He pulled you in, hugging you tightly "I'm proud of you kid... I didn't tell you that enough, all I think about in **** is what I missed out on in my crusade to protect you both... I love you son."

You felt red tears falling down your cold cheeks "I love you too, Dad... I'm sorry, I'm going to avenge you, I swear it."

"Good. Make sure you give that Crazy Upir-Bitch a sucker punch from me, eh?" You both chuckled, the sound of the sea and the Sand below calming your manic mind

"BOOOOOOORIIIIIING! My lord, how soppy... You know as heartwarming as this is, I am getting rather bored and slightly annoyed, go on You, back to limbo!" Cain clicked his fingers, and just as quickly as Your dad was there... He was gone.

You shook, feeling at the empty space where he had been, Your face twisting with anger as You looked up to Cain "BRING HIM BACK!"

"Oh shut up." He pointed and a crushing constriction overcame you, pulling you down as Cain moved forward, looking down at you with a smile "Well... He was right about one thing, You are a very promising candidate, buuut, you aren't the only one, there is that Dear sister of yours, and some others... I did use to get around back in the day... oh well, I suppose I should wake you up now, You have a lot of work to do right, hunting that Upir. Toodle-loo... You'll hear from me again... soon."

And once again, You fell.
