The Quad

“So like? What’s the plan?” I asked.

“Plan? It’s streaking. You get naked and run.” I was skeptical but like most things with Hillary I didn’t push further. It was better to just let the situation unfold.

“Do you think the rumors are true?” I asked changing the subject.

“Which rumors?” We were making our way down the well lit campus side walks. We still had about 5 minutes before we reached the quad.

“That Mindy Valentine is coming to the game tomorrow.”

“There’s no way. She’d never come back here.”

Mindy Valentine had been a student here a few years ago. In fact if my math was correct we would’ve overlapped on campus for a few years.

That is if she’d stayed in school. She’d dropped out to focus on acting right before Hillary and I’s freshman year. She’d been in a few smaller movies you’d heard of, but her big break had come in the biggest blockbuster this past summer.

Campus had been buzzing about the former student who’d made it big. For weeks the rumor had been that she was coming back to town for the game tomorrow and would be introduced on the field.

“Why do you think she wouldn’t come?” I asked.

“You’re the most in demand actress in the world right now. Everyone in Hollywood wants you. You’re really going to come back to the small college town to visit the school where you didn’t even get a degree?”

“Fair point.” I agreed.

“Besides. You and every guy on this campus only want her to show up in that Bikini.” Hillary was referencing the movie. Mindy had in fact spent over half of the run time on screen in a tiny red and white swimsuit. I had a feeling that it was a major factor in the film’s success.

“Don’t act like you don’t find her just as attractive.”

“Guilty.” Hillary laughed as we turned onto the path next to the library. I could see the entrance to the quad.

“Well here we are.” I said looking out over the vast green space. At this hour of the night it was covered in a warm glow from numerous lights.

The quad was huge. Probably two, two and a half football fields if I were to guess. It was lined with academic buildings on either side. At the end where we currently stood was the large University Library. Directly across from us was the main administrative building, its large rotunda in mistakable.

“So… we just get naked and run?” I teased.

“Shut up and strip.” She responded as she tugged off her tight fitting tank top.

Now it bears mentioning… We’ve never seen each other naked before. Swimsuits? Sure. But anyone who tells you that seeing someone in a bikini is the same as seeing them in their underwear is lying to you. It was odd seeing her strip down to just her underwear. It was a fairly simple matching grey cotton set though I could tell even in the semi darkness that the bottom piece was a thong.

“Ladies first.” I said as I tossed my jeans on our combined pile of clothes. I was now just in my boxer briefs.

“Oh no. You first.” She grinned.

“No way. This was your idea!” I could see her form a retort in her head before she froze.

We both heard the footsteps. Far too late. The path we were on was dark, but long. The pair who’d stumbled upon us had probably seen us before we heard them, but with us silhouetted by the light from the quad probably hadn’t realized we were both half naked till just that moment… and based on the gasp and laughter it was clear they’d noticed our state of undress.

I turned to see who had caught us and to attempt to explain the situation… but when I caught sight of who was standing within 50 feet of me my voice caught in my throat.
