The Prisoner Pod
{if S1 == true}With a pleasant night's rest behind you, the two of you make much better time this morning. Serena seems much more at ease after your encounter, and is more able to keep up today. You are able to avoid any more pitfalls, and before the sun is directly overhead you begin to the smell the acrid aroma of the remains of and electrical fire. You also come across the start of a large gash in the ground...the planet's vegetation tossed about like twigs. You motion to Serena to hold up with a frown on your face as you kneel down to examine the track. The destruction left behind here is far to too large to be an escape pod from your ship. It has to be something else. It could be alien in origin, but your instincts tell you it's something else.

You motion for Serena to remain quiet as you creep towards the endpoint of the crash. Being careful to stay hidden, you finally reach a point where you can observe the cause of the destruction. Your fears are confirmed as you determine the wreck of metal before is the remains of the prisoner pod from the Jaeger that would have been ejected when the Captain declared for all hands to abandon ship. You curse under your breath as you see a pair of men sitting on the ground before the pod, talking quietly to one another. As your ship was gathering supplies on the border before heading out on your patrol, a chance encounter by some of the crew had resulted in the capture of 3 of the notorious Valentino brotherhood. Wanted for a laundry list of crimes all throughout the border systems, they were most renowned as the Confederations worst slavers. They hadn't gone down easily...one of your security detail had been killed and two more injured...but you had successfully led the team that had captured them. With no authority to leave them with on the planet, and no time to return them to one, you had been forced to bring them along on the patrol. And now, you were forced to deal with at least two of them again.
{if S1 == true}You creep back to Serena and inform her of the situation. You see her eyes go a bit wide with fear as you inform her that you can't leave them behind to cause mayhem, but she reluctantly nods in agreement. With the tools you have at your disposal, you take stock of your options for a plan of attack. You have the rifle, of course...and you know the Valentino's are well aware of your hand to hand skills. Serena could also be of assistance, but her still nude state could be a distraction...for good or for ill, especially with your new found attraction.
{else}You creep back to Serena and inform her of the situation. Her face goes hard with anger as you inform her that you've found the Valentinos. One of her best friends was the member killed when you captured them, and she readily agrees with you when you state your intentions to recapture them.
