The Party

Cory’s mom and dad did pretty well for themselves. His dad, Richard, is a Finance executive and his mom, Helena, is a lawyer. They are an elegant couple who are well known and well liked in the community. Including Cory, they have 3 kids and they live in a big house with a large pool in the backyard.

I got there about 8.30 and the house was already filling up with familiar faces from school.

“Hey yo, Dan!” Someone called out to me as I entered the house.

I turned to see Jake and Tom sitting in the corner of the living room, nursing their plastic cups. I crossed over to them. “Hey…” I said, “Where’s Sam?”

My two friends exchanged glances and smiled.

“He’s not invited, bro,” Tom said.

“Yeah, relax,” Jake said, go grab a beer.

“They have beer?” I asked, “We’re all only 18 here.”

“Yeah, Cory’s mom bought it for the party. She’s awesome!”

My mind reeled a bit. A lawyer breaking the law and serving **** to kids under 21? What the heck?

“I know what you’re thinking,” Jake said with a laugh. “Official story is she bought it to stock up for entertaining guests in the future. We’re the ones who raided their basement without her knowing!”

“The fuck…?” I mumbled, glancing up just in time to catch Helena, Cory’s mom, walking into the kitchen, a cup of beer in hand. Helena was an elegant, and handsome woman with shoulder length, straight blonde hair and svelte curves. She was wearing a demure, long white summer dress, which was quite conservative.

Tom winked at me. “She’s a cool mom,” he said.

“Right… sure,” I replied as I glanced at Tom with nagging suspicion.

I hung around with Tom and Jake a bit. Then some familiar faces approached us. It was Will and Jon, another two of my close friends from school. They brought their respective girlfriends in tow, Avery and Hailey.

I probably should have mentioned that Cory, Will, Jon, Tom, Jake, Sam, and I used to be pretty tight, having lived in the same city and attended the same schools from elementary to middle, and now high school. Things started cooling off between us when Cory, Will, and Jon started dating Kirsten, Avery, and Hailey respectively. You know how it is when your bros get girlfriends.

Anyways, Sam started turning into the school jerk around then and his relationship with Cory, Will, and Jon had gotten strained pretty badly. Tom, Jake, and I were pretty much on the fence regarding this beef, so we still got along with both sides throughout the tension.

Up until now that is. I’m so over Sam after what he pulled at my house.

The boys and I bumped fists and chatted for a while. Then we moved around the house to see what’s up. People were playing beer pong at the dining table. The backyard pool party was in full swing with boys and girls in shorts and bikinis jumping in and out of the pool and doing goofy shit for tiktok.

I finally bumped into the main man, Cory, and his girl, Kirsten, and we caught up with each other for a while. I was surprised to see that Cory’s mom, Helena, and his older sisters, Janice and Olivia were walking around, enjoying the party.

“I didn’t know your mom was so cool,” I said with a laugh.

“I almost didn’t believe it either!” Cory replied, smiling, “The party was pretty much my sisters’s idea, and mom just went along with it. I guess she just needed to let loose a bit with my dad out of town.”

“I guess so!”

Time quickly ticked by and I was having loads of fun with my friends and schoolmates.

At about 9pm, the party was in peak swing. I was making my way back to my friends at the backyard pool from the restroom when Janice, one of Cory’s pretty older sisters, almost bumped into me. She was carrying a tray of drinks.

“Oh sorry!” Janice gushed, “Oh hey Dan, how are you enjoying the party?” She asked.

“Hey, yeah, I’m having fun,” I replied.

“Here have a drink!” Janice said, offering the tray of drinks to me.

“Oh um… thanks,” I said as I picked up a cup of beer.

Janice winked and smiled sweetly at me as I raised the cup to my lips. I can’t help but start to blush under her pretty blue-eyed gaze. I remembered that Janice was only a couple of years older than Cory, which meant she was 20. Cory’s other sister, Olivia was 21. They both had light brown hair like Cory, which came from their dad, but both sisters had inherited much of their mother’s good looks.

Suddenly someone caught hold of my hand before I could take a swig of beer and **** me to lower the cup from my face.

I was surprised to see that Jon and Will’s girlfriends, Hailey and Avery, had come up to me. Hailey was a sweetly beautiful girl with long dark brown hair that reached down her back. She sported a slim, athletic build and was wearing adorable tan shorts and a stylish, loose white top. Avery on the other hand was a strikingly lovely girl with shoulder length sandy blonde hair and jaw dropping soft nubile curves and fair skin. Hailey was the one who had interrupted my drink. She immediately took the cup from my hand and replaced it back on Janice’s tray.

“Sorry, Janice, he’s with us,” Hailey said.

Without warning, Avery suddenly slapped a sticker onto my forearm. It was a stupid Disney mickey-mouse logo sticker decorated with glitter. She grinned impishly at me as I looked at her in confusion.

Janice giggled. “That was a close one!” she said to us before taking the tray of drinks to a large group of kids at the pool area.

“What the heck is this?” I asked, looking at the sparkly sticker on my forearm.

“Don’t worry about it, Dan,” Hailey said with a smile, “It’s just a little party game.”

“Oh… okay, how do I play?”

Avery giggled. “You’ll know,” she said mysteriously.

That was odd.

I went and grabbed another drink from the kitchen before heading back out to the pool.

Something soon occurred to me. The cup of beer I got from the kitchen was in a red plastic cup. The ones on Janice’s tray were in green plastic cups.

As I made my way through the party, I can’t help noticed the colors of the cups the other people were holding. Some were holding green cups, while others had red cups. The people with the red cups always had a glittering mickey-mouse sticker on their arm.

“Weird game,” I mumbled to myself as I took a sip of beer.

I returned to my friends and continued goofing around with them, joking and laughing, playing pranks, doing stupid shit for instagram, etc.

Avery, Hailey and Kirsten went to get some drinks and when they returned I realized they had a red cup and green cup each. The girls immediately began sipping from the red cups and passed the green cups to their boyfriends. I glanced at Tom and Jake and spotted the Mickey Mouse stickers on their arms. Cory, Will, and Jon did not sport any stickers.

Somehow I didn’t feel good about this.

After some more time had passed, I went back inside to get another drink. To my surprise, I passed quite a number of people who were passed out drunk. Some were on the pool chairs, but others were lying right on the backyard floor.

It was only around 9.30 pm, I can’t believe so many people were already passing out.

Inside the house was no better. **** boys were on the floor, lined along entire walls. Every where I look, there would be a handful of dudes who were out of it.

It quickly occurred to me that there were usually empty green cups littering around the passed out people.

It couldn’t be….

Before I could process this situation, loud cheers suddenly erupted at the front of the house.
