The PTA Board

Hours passed since Queen Bee's conquest had began. Since then several pockets of resistance had been established and reinforced. Across the town stood the high school of which was reinforced into a shelter and resistance hub by the local PTA board. Hosted normally by Sophie, however with her whereabouts still unknown by anyone all that remained was the other five members: The school principal Mrs. Chantel Fairfield, The school nurse Dawn Swanson, local city councilwoman Joyice Bayview, Small business owner Reily McNeil, and Head Commissioner Harleen Bell. Together these five women had set up a bountiful fortress against Queen Bee's hive, offering sanctuary to any and all people seeking asylum. Nurse Dawn went to tend to the latest arrival as the rest of them talked on their next course of actions.

"Shame we still have no word on Sophie, I'd feel a lot more confident with her input in all this." Reily whined knowing all to well the group never was able to come to a consensus without her. "She has always been a fighter Reily, she won't be much longer I'm sure of it" Chantel reassured her fellow board member. "Without her here though we are not as strong." Began Joyice "Which is why we should move forward with project catacomb." Harleen stepped forward. "Moving forward with this plan would require a proper map of the city and insight on each of Bee's hive networks, We'd risk leading her straight to us." She explained. "What if we-" began Joyice once more before being shut down once more by the lead policewoman. "Assaulting the nearest hive network hub would also prove futile, There are only five of us healthy as is, Any other grown citizen is still ways from recovery from barely making their escape from these drones and we can not risk losing any of this city's students." Frustrated with what little options they had at their disposal the principal soon spoke up "So are we just suppose to sit here and let this woman take our city?" she cried out. "No we continue to wait for Sophie, There is now way a woman like her would be taken by this attack, surely by now she has gotten a grand scale view of the city and from there we can coordinate our next move properly." Harleen explained. As her explanation ended, her cv radio went off, Nurse Dawn was trying to get a hold of them. "Guys the new arrival it's Ruby." Cried out from the radio. The women surrounded Harleen with interest. "She's passed out and doesn't seem to show signs of becoming a part of Bee's army." Dawn explained. "We need to get to her surely she knows of Sophie's whereabouts." Chantel excitedly proclaimed. "Rodger that Dawn we are in route to the nurse's office now over" Harleen said into the radio.

The four women ran down the normally orderly hallway. For the first time since the invasion started they all had hope. Hope of which was dashed when the found the nurses office door wide open. Harleen gestured the women behind her as she lead them in flashlight on and investigating. "Dawn" Chantel cried out hoping to hear her fellow PTA member's voice. "Dawn it is only us." reassured Harleen hoping to draw out her comrade. Soon after her call though the four of them where greeted by a familiar voice. "Terribly sorry officer." The voice said in a calm yet eerie monotonic voice. "Dawn seemed to scurry off as I tried to speak to her." The voice explained "But, now that your all here perhaps you all would like to hear what I have to say." Harleen investigated the room "And what would that be?" She shouted out till the flashlight shone on Ruby, the voice's true origin. "The truth." She said showing what appear to be syringe needles fashioned into bee stingers, filled with a mysterious liquid. "Put the needle down Ruby." Harleen ordered the girl before her. "There is no need to worry Officer." Ruby explained "This is no ****, but rather medicine. Once it has been ejected into your own bloodstreams, you will realize the perfection and magnificence of Queen's Hive." Ruby said as she walked closer into the light, seemingly dressed in a yellow and black bunny suit of sorts, with bee like atena protruding from her hair. "And if we refuse." Asked Harleen maintaining her commanding tone as the three remaining women behind her trembled in fear. "Refusal is irrelevant." Assured Ruby as she approached the light. "Resistance is futile."
