Chapter 6 by CandidBandit CandidBandit

Up the trail they go.

The Outlanders Who Caught The Wind

They continued up the path, leaving the beach behind. The trio walked through a more open mountain pass than the previous one. It looked so much like the path from the game, and yet it went on for longer. The dirt track and the grass and trees with their fruit gave the married couple a sense of nostalgia. A feeling that they had been feeling since they woke up in Teyvat, but was at its strongest since the beach.

At some point they should come across a bend in the path with a waterfall in the corner. In the game it was a short path that led to the scene where the Traveler and Paimon would see Mondstadt for the first time. There she would say something about going to see the statue of the seven.

{And there's a reason why~}

His wife sang into his head in the same voice they both remembered Paimon having at the beginning.

They were still walking the path. It had been around twenty or thirty minutes of walking up the steep incline and their legs were aching a little. There were moments where they had to climb too. Three sections of small steep rock walls, and with those they learned that climbing here was not like in the game. Not completely. They couldn’t just hold onto a smooth surface. They still needed hand and foot holds, but they did find that their grip strength was much better here in this Teyvat than in their old world.

They found more fruit trees along the way and staved off hunger for a little longer. They kept two of them to see if they could put them away into an inventory and found to their collective pleasant surprise that they did indeed have the ability to stow away their items. One moment an apple was in Matt’s hand, and the next moment it glowed softly before disappearing. All he had to do to bring it back was to think of it and will it to appear again. Much like his sword. His wife did the same and put away her Sunsettia for later.

It wasn’t long after that that they began to hear the telltale sounds of rushing water. Some more walking found them treading down a soft decline and rounding a gentle bend in the path. The trio turned a corner past a jutting rocky outcropping and came across a beautiful sight.

The waterfall from the game was presented here in all of nature's glory. The water fell from a wide gap in the mountain above and into a pool in the corner of the bend in the trail. The trio stopped to take a look as well as to take a breather by the waters. The pool was like a large pond and sustained a few fish and some lily pads from what they could see.

The three traveling companions took off their boots and wet their tired feet. They spent a short while just enjoying the scene. It was a little idyllic place in nature just tucked away from most curious eyes.

“So, this unknown god,” Paimon said as she flapped her legs up and down in the water, barely breaking the surface. “I’m not too sure who it could be, but I do know of the seven gods that rule over their respective nations. There are also some lesser gods, but I don’t think they would have the power to keep you here.”

“The one we faced seemed really powerful. She defeated us even with our full power.” Aether mentioned.

“Hmm, then I can only guess that she may have been an Archon, one of the Seven... maybe.” Paimon thought and shrugged.

“Are these Archons strong?” Lumine asked.

“Oh! They are super strong! They all fought in some war ages ago. Thats how they became Archons in the first place. If anyone knows who trapped you here, it would be them. I’m... halfway certain.” Paimon nodded her head with conviction, despite her words.

Lumine giggled at her passable certainty.

“I see. I guess that's where we can start our search.” Aether said, before pulling his legs out from the cool waters and stood up. He then dried his feet in the grass by the path and set about putting his boots back on. His wife followed suit, which prompted Paimon to do the same.

They prepared to set out once again and followed the path.

“Which of the Seven do you think it might be?” Paimon asked as they continued on their way. “Did they use one of the elements?”

“She didn’t use any of them. At least it didn’t look like any element I’ve heard of.” Lumine answered. “There was some light and something... blocky?”

“Blocky?” Paimon tilted her head in thought. “That doesn’t ring any bells.”

“Are there as many elements as there are Archons?” Aether asked.

“Yep! There’s Anemo, the one we are closest to, then Geo, Electro, Dendro, Hydro, Pyro and lastly Cryo.” Paimon explained. Of course, Matt and Jen already knew these things, but it made sense for them to be asking these questions anyway since they were supposedly new to this world. “Anemo is for the wind and Geo is earth and so on, but light and blocks... I can’t think of what that might be.”

It seemed that Paimon didn’t have the answers for that little conundrum. And Matt didn’t expect her to. Even with the theory that she was connected to the unknown god in some way it was unlikely that the description of the gods power would somehow jog her memory. She was a girl with amnesia after all.

They walked on and found another incline. Fortunately, it looked like it didn’t last for very long as they could see the left side of the path break away, opening up to the sky and leaving a noticeable cliff-side.

They were close. The married couple would see the breathtaking view of Mondstadt very soon. Even Paimon seemed to be getting excited as they walked the path.

“You’re both going to love it. You’ll be able to see the city in the distance and the lake it sits in. I never get tired of the sight.” She told them, almost buzzing beside them.

They drew closer and the open sky became more apparent as they left the mountainous path behind. The left side revealed deep blue sky as far as the eye could see but they had yet to make it to the jutting cliff that would show them more.

Paimon couldn’t contain herself and ran/floated on ahead. Matt looked at his wife and shared a childlike excitement with her. They both grinned and ran after their new friend. The wind picked up closer to the cliff edge and the sounds of birds flapping and singing their songs carried to their ears. The rustling of trees in a persistent breeze was also heard even this high up.

They ran onto the cliff looking out over the land and slowed to a walk, taking it all in as they came up behind Paimon. They came abreast of her and stood there, in awe of the most nostalgic moment from their times playing the game. Only, this time it was real.

The valley looked much wider here, and more vast. The cracked and pointy hills on either side looked a little further away, and the lake in the middle of it all seemed a little bigger. And beyond the edge of the valley that looked like the site of a meteorite impact Matt could see a larger lake with a large island in the distance. On that island there appeared to be buildings with red roofs and grey towers. Windmills turned lazily and the silhouette stood at the highest point of the island.

{Does it look bigger?}

It honestly did look bigger than the game version. In the game, Mondstatd barely looked bigger than a castle town. Here it might actually live up to its title as a city.

Matt looked closer to the smaller lake in the valley and thought he could see the statue of The Seven near its edge. Or, at the very least he thought he could see a... grey... thing, with a subtle red glow about it.

And between all of these things sat a vast and open field with trees of many shades of green and even some yellow. Matt tried to see if there was any hilichurl activity in the places that would match the game, but the trees made it difficult to see in some areas.

Something his wife saw got his attention though. The image he saw through her eyes made him look up at the sky and take note of a strange smudge that didn’t seem to be a cloud.

[Is that Celestia?]

{I... I think it might be.}

It was in the right approximate location for it.

“Isn’t it beautiful?” Paimon said softly beside them.

“It is.” Lumine agreed.

“That place over there is Mondstatd, the City of Freedom, and that place closer to us is the Statue of the Seven. We’ll be going there first.” Paimon pointed out each place. “There are a few of these statues scattered across the land to show the Seven’s protection over the world. Among the seven gods, this god controls the wind.”

And there was the cutscene dialogue.

{Ooh, ooh, she’s gonna say it!}

“I don’t know if this god will have the answers you seek, but... I’ll take you to the Anemo God’s place first, and there’s a reason why~” Paimon said with a cheery singsong tone.

Matt could practically feel his wife grinning like a cat through their bond.

{Hehe, she said it...}

“And it’s not just because they are the closest to us right now either.” She clarified. She turned back to the path and hurried away. “Come on. I’ll explain on the way.”

Matt and Jen looked at each other before walking after the cute fairy girl.

“Mondstadt is the city of poetry and language. And as we all know poetry and language flow like the wind. And the wind itself is free to come and go as it wills. However, travelers who get lost in this part of the world often speak of mysterious winds that seem to compel them to go in certain directions. They’ll swear that the wind guided them all the way to Mondstadt’s front gate.” Matt and Jen listened with rapt attention as Paimon explained something that was never talked about in the game. It was quite the deviation. “These stories go as far back as the people can remember. They’ve come to refer to them as The Guiding Winds of Barbatos.”

They walked down the gently sloping path into the valley. The nature around them was breathtaking as well as peaceful. The soundtrack from the game was playing in the married couples heads as the nostalgia filled them.

“So, if your sister was ever in the region and was feeling lost, there’s a strong chance she was guided here. That’s why there will definitely be someone there who knows something about your sister. At least, that’s what I think.” Paimon chuckled ruefully here. “And even if we can’t find her straight away, you could always ask the god directly at the church. Of course, whether or not the god actually answers you is an entirely different story. Though, you’ll never know unless you try. So, let’s hop to it.”

She looked back at the both of them with a cheerful grin and hopped into the air. She flew onward down the descending path and prompted her new friends to catch up. Matt and Jen smiled at each other and ran after the floating girl.

---Waifu---

Squirrels and foxes darted away as the three companions raced down to the valley. Sparrows flew out from a few trees as they passed by. Matt wondered how they didn’t trip on the way down, but chalked it up to being more physically stronger in this world.

Matt and Jen ran and skidded down the slope while Paimon flew just ahead of them occasionally looking back. They ran for some minutes, barely catching their breath as their muscles began to burn.

Finally, the ground leveled out as they reached the end of the curling path. They now found themselves at the beginning of a lightly forested path with the sight of the small island peeking through the gap in the tree line.

The trio slowed down now that they were no longer going downhill and Paimon touched down on the ground once again. Matt and Jen were breathing somewhat hard at the exertion of running and had to catch their breath for a moment.

“Well, at least we now know that I’m faster than you two.” Paimon said with a giggle.

“You were flying. How much effort does that take?” Lumine huffed at the fairy.

“It takes a lot I’ll have you know. Phew, I could take a rest and a bite to eat. Pheeeew!” The girl exaggerated as she wiped imaginary sweat from her brow.

Aether snorted and fell into a more comfortable pace now. There didn’t seem to be any monsters around that he could tell. Lumine and Paimon fell into step and they all walked towards the lake in the distance. It wasn’t the shortest of walks, at least not compared to the game, but it didn’t take much longer than a rough ten minutes.

As they got closer, the trees thinned and opened up to reveal the wide-open view of the valley with the lake in the middle. From their new vantage point, they could see the Statue of the Seven sitting at the highest point on the island. It was a bit more distinct now and the red glow was quite obvious.

“So, that’s the Statue of the Seven?” Lumine asked Paimon, even though she already knew the answer.

“Yep! All you gotta do is swim over there and touch the base of the statue to pay your respects.”

“Is that necessary when entering a country for the first time?” Aether asked. It occurred to him that it was never really explained why the Traveler needed to touch the statue in the game. It wasn’t like Paimon knew that the Traveler would get Anemo powers from it, did she?

Paimon didn’t answer straight away. Instead, she thought about it with finger and thumb on her chin. “Uh... it’s respectful? Oh! They also have the power to heal and restore stamina. Travelers use them all the time to rest on their way to wherever they are headed.”

Okay, that made a lot of sense. They did have those powers in the game.

“Okay then, I guess we’re swimming.” Aether said, turning to his wife.

She shrugged and shook her head with her hands out to the side. “Two of us are swimming. One of us is flying and staying dry.”

“Geh...” Paimon let out an odd sound after being called out like that. “Ah, well... if you could fly, wouldn’t you?”

“Hmm, well... yeah.” Lumine let it go easily with another shrug.

“See! I’m not in the wrong!” The fairy girl said with a pout.

Before anymore could be said Aether walked towards the water's edge. He hesitated when he realized that his clothes were going to get drenched and his boots would likely fill with water again. He looked down and wondered if he could put his boots into his inventory. He tried to will them to disappear and was rewarded with a glow surrounding his boots. A moment later he felt himself drop an inch to the sand below his feet. The jolt made his heart shudder a little but it wasn’t all that big a deal.

His wife watched as he removed his boots like that and tried it herself, leaving her barefooted and showing off her delicious legs.

{You can lick them all you want later, love.}

He just grinned at her and turned back to the water. As he dipped his feet in and felt the rush of the cool water shock his senses, Paimon floated by him and flew over the surface. She smiled at him as she passed him by.

Aether waded into the water and fought back against the cold feeling. Once he was waist deep, he pushed off from the bank and swam. He heard his wife follow him into the water and the two of them made their way over to the island.

They stepped foot onto the opposite shore and climbed out of the water. Matt shook his head, forgetting that he now had a braided ponytail, and almost whipped himself across the face. His wife’s side tails were whipping back and forth too. She wiped her face down and looked at him through her bangs.

{I’m wet again.} She thought at him and waggled her eyebrows.

Matt grinned and sent some inappropriate thoughts her way that made her giggle. He then made his boots reappear on his person once his feet were dry enough.

“Come on you slow pokes!” Paimon called to them from close to the statue.

“Oh, cheeky, cheeky Paimon. Just you wait until I eat between those cheeks.” Lumine muttered with a pervy grin. Paimon was too far away to hear her words or see the questionable expression, but Aether barked a laugh and shook his head.

He turned to towards the statue and climbed the rough uneven path to the monument. The husband and wife now stood before the statue representing the Anemo Archon, Barbatos. The form of a young cloaked man with wings and holding a sphere stood at the top. There were noticeable cracks and missing pieces to the statue, but the base with its golden shield symbol, as large as a person, seemed pristine. The angular golden sigil seemed to be embossed onto the stonework.

Matt and Jen exchanged a glance and nodded their readiness. They approached the statue and placed a hand each onto the middle of the golden shield. After a moment, lights shone on the surface, intensifying the golden color of the metal. Aether and Lumine cautiously retracted their hands and the light turned from gold to a light blue bordering on green. Particles of the same color blinked in and out as the statue’s red glow also turned into a blue torrent of light that shot up into the sky. Lines in the stone work shone with a more condensed blue and the sphere in the hands of the stone figure followed suit. Energy seemed to pool into the sphere, garnering an aura of the same blue color. More light was pulled in before a ball of light burst from the physical object. And then another shot out after the first. The two balls of blue green light floated whimsically down to the two Travelers and passed through into their chests. Aether and Lumine both felt the cool sensation of a breeze, only it felt like it was inside their souls. Wisps of blue light wafted up from around them before dissipating.

They tried looking at their bodies to see what had changed and noted the pieces of their clothing that changed color in the game. There were lines of blue green light around the wrists of Aether’s gloves. The centerpiece on his chest also glowed. From Lumine’s sight he was able to see his ear ring glowing the same color. Lumine herself had similar lines of blue color about her person.

In that same moment, the world seemed to dull, the light darkening as their surroundings faded from view. Everything disappeared, the land, the sky, the statue and even Paimon. Aether and Lumine seemed to stand alone in a vast and dark space.

Matt looked around in alarm before turning to his wife.

“This... never happened in the game, right?”

“No...” Jen shook her head, looking just as worried as Matt felt.

Looking down, there wasn’t even a ground to stand on. And yet, they stood there quite firmly supported.

Their worries came to an end when a light appeared where the Statue of the Seven once stood. They turned to look and found a tall woman standing there in the darkness. A woman that seemed to be surrounded by light, making it difficult to see her features, looked down at them.

A sense of familiarity overcame the married couple. They had seen this woman before. They had met her before, in a dream. Or in a place between worlds. Was this dark void the same place as before?

“Hello once again.” The woman’s voice rang out like bells across the expanse. Matt and Jen shivered with an odd indistinct feeling. “It gives me great happiness to know that you both have been enjoying this adventure so far. And now you stand here, having received the wind. An important first step of this journey.”

There was a pause here, but Matt and Jen didn’t know what to say. They were in the presence of a god-like figure. This was someone with the power to bring them from one world to the next. Whatever questions they might have had for this woman fell short as they stared in awe.

“I also heard your rendition of events concerning the Princess of the Abyss. You called her Lumina, and said she was your sister.” The woman made of light said to Jen. Jen felt rooted to the spot and couldn’t even think of responding. “I like this alteration and approve the change. You will find that she will remember being a sister and sister-in-law to the two of you.”

Matt gulped. The implication was that this woman, this goddess, had just changed the reality of this world to fit their story.

“Now, along with this power of Anemo, I wanted to give you another power. One that falls in line with the desire I sensed from you.” This time she looked at Matt, rooting him to the spot. “You have the desire to... show your carnal affections... while others look on with a sense of apathy. Or a sense of normalcy. You want to be able to make love to your wife in a public setting without alarming anyone around you. You want others to view your... affections as just an everyday occurrence. To have their minds brush off any thoughts of disgust or irritation and to rationalize your... sordid behaviors.”

Matt felt his entire being burn with shame and embarrassment at being called out by a literal goddess. Though, there did seem to be some form of interest from her words and tone. She did say that she wanted to grant a power involving those interests.

“I will grant you the power to do these things, but only with the ones that you romance or seduce into becoming your lovers. I will not endorse you doing things lacking in consent to the people of my world. You must convince them to join you in your... activities... the mundane way. However, once you have acquired a new lover, you may tell them of your power to... perform in public... with no push-back from the populace. That way, they can also enjoy the benefits.”

The married couple were reeling on the inside. This goddess was basically granting them a sexual wish that they had from a previous life. She was granting them something called Normality. A subset of the Free-use fetish that allowed someone the ability to have sex without others making a fuss over it. This was coming from a goddess!

“What I will not do, however, is to prevent the natural course of pregnancy. You will have to receive that blessing from the Church of Favonius. They have such services for lovers and married people. Now, do you have any questions for me?” The woman opened up the floor, or rather the void, for them to finally speak.

Silence reigned as Matt couldn’t even string two thoughts together. No questions came to mind even as he tried to think of something, anything. He eventually looked to his wife and she glanced at him with the same clueless expression. She couldn’t think of anything either.

They both looked back at the imposing light of the goddess.

“U-Um...” Jen said with the hesitation that Matt felt. “T-Thank you.”

It wasn’t a question but it made sense to say that after what was being given to them. Fortunately, the goddess smiled at them with amusement.

“Then a couple final things to note. Firstly, you also have the freedom to look at people with desire, and to receive the same rationalized behavior in return. No one will be offended if you look with the heat of a degenerate.”

That... wow, that was actually a good one when Matt thought about it. He would be able to look at someone's cleavage or butt without worrying that they would turn on him with shouts of “Pervert!” He would be able to look at Paimon or Amber’s butts without creeping them out.

“Secondly, ejaculating inside a woman will trigger her own orgasm. Regardless of her own buildup of pleasure.”

At that both Matt and Jen gaped at her. That... that was... Jen was already getting ideas from that.

“And that is really all. I hope the two of you can show me a lovely adventure.”

“Ah! Um...!” Jen spoke up again. The goddess paused and waited patiently for her to speak. “Again... thank you. I don’t know why you did all this for us... but, thank you.”

The goddess smiled warmly down at Jen and shared that smile with Matt before waving a hand and dispelling the void. Their vision faded and blurred before color rushed back in.

Color swirled, and an image appeared in Matt’s mind, unbidden. A misshapen form was super imposed on the dwindling void. The shape lit up with blues and greens and greys.

It took Matt a moment to understand what he was seeing, but when he did, he took in the map of the land with excitement. A map of the world, or at least a portion of it, was shown to his mind, and presumably to his wife’s as well. He could see Starfell Lake, the Storm Bearer Mountains, the Whispering Woods, the Cidar Lake and a portion of the city of Mondstadt. And more besides. This map looked far larger than the one in the game as well. Which made sense since they had to cross more land to get here than they ever had to in the game.

There were even icons on this mental map of all the places they had already visited, including the teleport way-points.

Matt turned his focus back to his wife and found that the void they were once standing in had been replaced with the island on Starfell Lake. They were back before the statue once more.

“Wow! What happened?!” They both heard Paimon exclaim, but before they could try and explain away their absence Paimon continued on. “That floating ball looked like Anemo energy! Did the god of the wind just give you his power? But I don’t see a vision on either of you.”

The fairy girl looked them both up and down to try and understand what it was that she had just witnessed. It also seemed as if she didn’t realize that they had been taken to some other plane of existence. Perhaps time was paused for her and the rest of the world while the goddess had talked to them.

{That seems likely.} Jen thought.

“You think we can use his element?” Aether asked Paimon.

“Well... maybe, but that... you see, people in this world, as much as they may want it, can’t just get a hold of power as easy as that.” Paimon told them.

“Maybe it’s because we came from another world. Could that be why?” Lumine asked, already knowing the answer of course.

Paimon crossed her arms beneath her medium breasts in thought. “That... maybe? It’s as good an explanation as any.”

She didn’t sound very convinced.

Their conversation was cut short when all three of them heard an odd sound. It was like a bouncy bubbly... thing bouncing closer towards them. The trio looked to the side and saw a pyro slime bouncing towards them. The first pyro slime they had seen yet.

“Eh?! Was that guy attracted to the elemental energy just now? And how did he cross the water when he’s made of fire?!” Paimon yelled in alarm.

{It’s tutorial time, baby!} Jen thought with excitement as she manifested her sword in front of her. Matt followed suit and brandished his own blade.

“Stay back Paimon!” Aether called out as he approached the slime with his wife. They kept a little distance between them in case of friendly fire.

“O-Oh... okay.” She floated back towards the statue and away from danger.

They stood their ground as the pyro slime approached and considered how they should do this.

{Do you want to go first, or should I?} Jen asked him.

[Ladies first?] Matt offered.

{Thank you kindly.}

Lumine stepped forward and dashed towards the slime. She stopped a meter before making contact and raised her left hand, her empty hand, towards the red/orange blob of shimmering heat and fire.

Matt could feel the effort she was putting into tapping into her new powers. There was a feeling of a rushing wind from deep within. There was a feeling of wanting a release. The pressure increased and burst forth from her hand with an expanding ball of green wind. The swirling wind engulfed the slime and burst open with torrential pressure.

“Wind Blade!” She cried.

The pyro slime was thrown back towards the water's edge but didn’t die. It flipped itself over and shook itself off. The grass around it had caught fire and the slime looked pretty angry with its cute face turned into a frown.

Aether dashed into the fray and passed Lumine. He caught up to the slime as it tried to bounce towards them again. Aether raised his off hand and copied his wife’s action and felt the wind deep down inside. The pressure increased and needed an outlet. His arm was the pipe and his hand was the vent. When the pressure was at its highest, he released the valve and felt the air in front of his hand balloon and burst upon the slime.

This time the slime went flying back into the water where its body sizzled and broke apart in the cool liquid.

There wasn’t time to relax as his wife sent an image to his mind showing more pyro slimes appearing from the side. She dashed forth and dispatched the two new enemies with another Wind Blade, only she charged this one up as long as she was able to. When she let it go, the two slimes exploded before they could even hit the water.

“Aether, behind you!” Paimon yelled.

Aether swung around and saw three new slimes approach from the shore.

[Hey, Jen. Wanna do a double tornado attack?]

{Hell yeah!}

Aether took a few steps back to give her time to dash over to him. She pulled up alongside him and they stood there facing the three pyro slimes leaving a swath of burned grass in their wake. In tandem Aether and Lumine felt the Anemo energy inside them fill to bursting. They both envisioned the ultimate attack that they were both familiar with and followed an instinct that came with this new power.

They both felt a burst of Anemo energy envelop them. They swung their arms and jumped, spinning in the air and molded the wind around themselves. Green energy wrapped around them and was released as twin tornadoes formed and marched towards the red blobs.

The mighty winds picked up the slimes and turned the green wind red with their pyro energy. The tornadoes mixed together and became an angry red vortex of fire. The vortex marched across the water picking up steam and carrying the slimes across to the other side, both figuratively and physically.

Aether couldn’t even tell if they were still in there before the vortex burned through some trees and dissipated more than twenty meters away.

The married couple were left looking at the carnage a little stunned.

“...wow.”

“...yeah.”

Matt guessed that they had just found their go to strategy. Twin tornadoes... with another element mixed in like fire. Jen nodded dumbly while staring at some charred trees.

No more slimes attacked them and they all relaxed again.

“That was so cool, you guys!!” Paimon gushed when she approached them. “That settles it. The God of Anemo really did bless you. Man, I wish I was given an element to use the last time I touched one of these things.” She looked back over her shoulder at the Statue of the Seven with a frown.

“That was something, huh?” Lumine said with some pride in her voice and her hands on her hips. “And, don’t worry, Paimon. Even if you don’t get power like this, we’ll protect you.”

“Eh heh, thanks.” The fairy girl smiled bashfully at her. “A-Anyway, we probably should head off before more come. If we keep heading west from here, we’ll eventually reach Mondstadt, the City of Freedom.”

She turned to point in the direction of the city whose windmills were still visible from this low in the valley.

“Mondstadt is the city of wind, because they worship the God of Anemo. So, since you got power from the God of Anemo, you might be able to find some clues there. There are lots of adventurers and bards there, so maybe one of them has heard news of your sister. And who knows, maybe the Archon himself will want to talk to you?” Paimon explained and wondered.

“Here’s hoping.” Lumine responded with a nod.

The three of them approached the western shore of the little island and were preparing themselves to swim again when a shadow blotted out much of the sky. A sound, similar to sailcloth's flapping in the wind, could be heard high above.

Aether, Lumine and Paimon looked up to see a massive dragon fly overhead and soar over towards the forest just outside the valley. The terrifying form disappeared behind one of the sharp cliffs around the edge of the ancient impact site.

“What was that?!” Paimon yelled in fright. “It was huge! And it headed to the forest, exactly where we’re supposed to go!” Paimon looked back at them with concern for their safety. “Do you think it uses the forest as its lair?”

“Who knows? We just need to be careful and maybe sneak by it. And don’t worry, like my wife just said, we’ll protect you if anything happens.” Aether assured her.

“...yeah. Okay.” Paimon eventually nodded, obviously still worried.

{Hello Dvalin. It’s been a while.} Jen mentally saluted the suffering dragon.

Matt smiled and dove into the water.
