The Order of the Reborn Goddess

The Order of the Reborn Goddess resides in the remote mountainous region of the realm, far from larger civilization. It is a religious organization that worships the aforementioned Reborn Goddess - Irie, the Goddess of Penance. Previously a powerful goddess of wrath and destruction, mythology tells of her crushing defeat and later harsh punishment by other deities; sentenced not only to be stripped of her power, but also her freedoms. Irie is often depicted as a beautiful young woman in heavy punishing bondage, being paraded by other members of the pantheon in a humiliating show of defeat.

The Order believes that to properly revere their goddess, they must take on her punishment. To seek shelter with the Order, one must also give up their physical freedoms, and practice their teachings of obedience and submission. It is common to see members of the order with their wrists and ankles shackled even for day-to-day activity, and their lips sealed below thick leather. The leader of the order, their so-called Mother Superior, is the exception to this rule, being the one who is stationed to enforce Irie's teachings on her flock. Those visiting the order may do so for many reasons - either out of devotion for the Shackled Goddess herself, or having been sent from greater civilization to receive penance. These unwilling members may be criminals, or they may be misbehaving heiresses or princesses. No matter what, it's well-known that those who are new are given the strictest treatment.
