The Next Morning

After sharing a meal with Mark, Renee went to bed with Fenrir closely guarding her. After an uneventful night, Renee woke up to Fenrir watching the door with his ears perked up.

"Mark? You still here?" Renee asked.

No answer except silence. Renee started feeling a bit worried that something may have happened to Mark. Maybe he was infected and turned during the night. Maybe he left and her apartment was no longer safe.

Suddenly there was a quiet knock at the door. Fenrir started a low growl when Renee heard Mark whisper through the door.

"Renee, you ok?" Mark asked. "I scrounged us up some breakfast. Its not much, but I thought it might help after you saved my life last night."

Mark cracked the door, and Fenrir started sniffing the air. A hand holding a small plate of bacon came through.

Renee's stomach growled so loud Fenrir jumped.

"You can open the door, im awake and decent." Renee respoded.

Mark opened the door, and Fenrir darted out, then came back and silently begged for some bacon while Renee had started wolfing it down.

"I wanted to say thanks again" Mark said. I can help you with scavenging, seems like my orders dont seem to matter. I just need to survive."

"There are a couple more apartments we can look through, see what they have for supplies." Renee stated. "Or we could try to venture out whatever may be available, store, gas station, your choice"
