The Naseef Empire / United Liberation Front conflict

The civil war between the Naseef Empire and United Liberation Front officially started just over a year ago, when members of parliament and two divisions of the military committed an orbital bombing strike on Prince Nasir Naseef's newly built mansion. The bombing killed the Prince's entire family and many other important figures of the Naseef Empire.

To the surprise of the Naseef Empire, the rebels have proven to be rather effective. This has led to a sense of paranoia and the execution of many suspected traitors. Many believe there are insiders of the Naseef Empire's command helping the rebellion. Others believe that defectors simply have a deep understanding of the Naseef Military's doctrine.

Right now the rebel leadership occupies an unknown mothership as their base of operations. It is from there it is believed they coordinate many attacks. In spite of this, the United Liberation Front has been able to capture many Aurum planets from the Naseef empire, holding them hostage. It is a poorly kept secret that the rebels are trading with other, supposedly neutral empires.

On the planet of Shalusa, the rebels have been waging an insurgency war against the Empire. Whilst the Naseef Empire is used to dealing with such conflicts, the rebels of the United Liberation Front have proven to be much more difficult to deal with. It is believed this is due to previously splintered factions joining together and pooling resources. The ULF does see its fair share of support, many wonder how strong the alliance between factions are.

Whilst the Naseef and Wri Empires are working together, this has been a source of conflict. Wri has been unwilling to share some of its technological advantages in fear of future conflict, whilst the Naseef Empire has at times accused the Wri empire of being too demanding without offering enough support. Also further harming the conflict is the fact that many important figures of the Wri society have also been critical of the war, stating that they should not be getting involved.
