The Nameless One

He disappeared. Quite sudden, to be honest, this whole thing. I stood there, noticing the emotions finally now do arrive. It’s like when I was with Golthuem, my brain had to work overtime to just make choices, and now it, alas, found time to process the informations, what actually happened.

With a slight flap sound, a ghostly crow suddenly descends on to my shoulder. My familiar, there it is, surreal, isn’t it?

“Good Day, mindslaver. You took my pact.” The Nameless, an abrupt entry, he seemingly asked a question but also not, as he said it in a declarative manner.

“Good day sir, yes, I did” I said.

“Great, I’ll give you an introduction, then your queries. First of all, you have to bring me two heads per year, this is the bare minimum. You may choose who to kill, but they must be significant enough to affect the scale. In other words, your target must be well established, at least on a planetary level.” He continued, in a plain voice.

I thought for a moment, then spoke: “I understand sir, but I do have some queries.”

“Speak them.”

“Firstly, you have mentioned that I may choose my target, but from where? Is there a list? Secondly, may I ask for a favour? As I have no idea how could a mindslaver be killed, do we have any form of physical enhancements when we become mindslavers?” I asked.

“Your first question, yes, there will be a list, and you can choose, more like a database for potential targets. Secondly, yes, mindslavers do get some physical enhancements to their brain, just to cope with the power, nothing else. If a person has certain boons or powers, then they may have some gains accordingly. For example, a person with the Alchemy trait may have some enhances from potions, a person with Flesh Sculptor, may have physical enhances, but still within the biological boundaries.” The Nameless answers, seemingly pleased with the questions. “I will provide you no help, but to start things off, I will present you some easy pickings on the list. I’ll give you an artificial assistant, a blue energy ball, it will serve as an app for Nemesis. All of the possible/recommended targets are on there.”

“ Thank you very much sir, I’ll take my leave then.” I said, sensing his “you may now leave” jest.
