The Last Stand

The countdown continued and Yulia and Lri looked to each other and both took a deep breath. As the numbers count down Lri suddenly calls out as loud as she can, "wait I surrender!" and the countdown stops. She then casts an illusion and invisibly opens the door to let the illusion of herself walk outside without passing through the door. The illusion of her has it's hands held up and walks forward with it's head low. A predator lashes out with tentacles and the attempt to grab the illusion dispels it revealing the trick.

"Then you have chosen the hard way," the speaker system says as at the same time Yulia quickly destroys as many of the cameras inside as she can see. Lri slams the door shut again just before it begins to rattle from the **** of stun bolts hitting it.

"that door won't hold forever, but maybe it will hold long enough?" Lri states seconds before the door is suddenly blown off it's hinges by an explosive blast. The door slamming into the room and barely missing the two shocked women.

"Guess not, plan B then!" Yulia yells and begins casting Undermine as many times as she can, downing a mana potion when she runs out of mana. She also moves standing in the entrance as she does so. Relying on the cloak to protect her from the bombardments and acting as a shield to prevent them from shooting inside and possibly disabling the machines Maple is using or using any sort of grenade weaponry. As their attempts to fire on her fail they begin to move forward and she stands her ground until they get close enough, she stabs at them as they approach with her rapier, skewering one, before she retreats inside and the first two to follow her are hit with a grenade before she uses **** Lance to collapse the door frame and block off the last.

"that should buy us some time," she suggests.

Outside more predators are arriving as the remaining predator begins trying to break through the rubble blockage.

Lri casts an illusion outside of Yulia sneaking away which momentarily distracts the newly arriving reinforcements until they realize their shots at her aren't in fact missing, but are passing through her and she is indeed another illusion. At which point they turn their attention back to the door. With their ability to form tools at will they are not held back by the wreckage for long and soon it's cleared. Yulia opens up on them with all her magic, but it has little effect. **** Lance merely distorts their form momentarily, fireball and Icicle just hit with no real effect and Blizzard is almost completely ignored.

Lri uses the veil to stab them with blood drinker as they enter unable to fit more than two at a time through the door. However between each stab she has to veil herself again and during one of these times, another enters too quickly and her **** stab is quickly dodged by the machine and it turns and lashes out at her with a tentacle which wraps around her neck and then delivers a painful shock to her. She screams as she collapses to the ground, the machine however is then stabbed through the head by Yulia who then grenades the next few through the door.

Lri is down for the count, but Yulia is doing her best, soon she's out of grenades though and her best is simply hurling obscenities and stabbing them as they enter. The sound of machinery in the background has quieted and Yulia stabs one, who grabs her arm at the same time. She's grabbed as a result by two more who **** her down to the ground as she struggles desperately.

"No! No! No! MAPLE!" she screams desperately and then suddenly a wave of energy explodes just above her. She feels the **** hit her, but it doesn't hurt, it's just a sensation of pressure, the machines however all begin to twitch violently and then shut down. Another predator enters and a massive hole is blown through it's torso killing it instantly as Yulia gets to her feet and looks over to Maple. She's carrying a high tech rifle in one hand, a number of high tech grenades in the other and is wearing a suit of high tech armor.

"Yulia, there's more armor and another rifle for you and Lri, suit up, we're not done here yet, but now we have a chance. I made these machines and I know how to beat them, EMP grenades, plasma rifles and armor that's resistant to their stun abilities," she explains as she shoots another two as they enter.

Lri is ****, but Yulia hurries to the back and indeed finds a pair of rifles and two more suits of armor, Yulia notes with amusement that like Maple's both the helmets have slots and covers for Maple's ears. Yulia quickly suits up, hesitating a moment upon realizing the visored helmet can't be worn with her mask, but she eventually takes off her mask and puts on the helmet with a sigh. She returns to help Maple fend off the enemies. "Lri is down, we'll have to carry her and her suit and weapon," Yulia explains and Maple nods, "alright, you carry them, I'll clear us a way out," she says.

"We're leaving now?" Yulia asks.

"The Directive won't stop coming and even with this tech we can't fight an unwinnable battle so we have **** but to flee and with this tech it shouldn't be hard to come back here again later now so for the moment we flee," Maple explains. She then walks outside firing as Yulia grabs the tech suit and Lri, strapping both Rifles to her, she struggles a bit with the weight of the suit and Lri's **** form, but follows Maple. Outside there are plenty more predators, but Maple is clearing a path. Their stun shots hit the armor without causing any issue to Maple.

"Don't get too close, they'll easily tear the armor off if they get their hands on you, but we're basically invulnerable at range!" Maple yells.

Following Maple they soon make it back to the engineering Terminal where Dreg's presence forces the Directive to turn back. The cameras here spot them as do the slimes, but they run into the train and it takes off bringing them to the Mercantile Terminal and safety.

With the fight over Yulia places Lri gently in a seat and puts the armor down near her as well as the rifle and looks at Maple who is standing breathing heavily.

"That was quite a risk," she admits, "it payed off wonderfully, these weapons and anything else I can make for us should finally put us on equal footing with Sally and her machines. Thank you for trusting me," she says. The suit itself is the same clean white metal as the Jaspers with a metallic visored helmet, arm covering, gauntlets, chest piece, cod piece, leg armor and boots. Underneath there was a skin tight bodysuit made of a strange flexible material similar to latex, Yulia felt strangely naked in the body suit, her underwear having to be removed to put it on, but that also gave the unrestricted sensation of being naked, she felt less weighed down, except by the armored pieces, then she did when wearing her normal clothing. The suit also seemed to slim her form down, pressing her breasts so they fit inside the armor in a surprisingly comfortable way. Something she was glad for since the suits seemed to be all designed exactly the same and to Maple's body, so if that wasn't the case, Yulia's breasts definitely wouldn't have fit in the fairly small chest of the body armor. Being made to suit Maple the suits had tiny cat ears and a hole just above the butt for her tail which swished currently, Maple obviously quite happy with herself.

"When Lri wakes up, we should figure out what to do, we might be ready with this tech to **** the prison, but I wouldn't count on it," Maple says and Yulia merely nods. She feels exhausted and sits down, laying her head back.

"Going to sleep?" Dreg's voice suddenly speaks over the intercom and Yulia sighs. She could definitely use a re-

She suddenly sits up and glances at Maple, "something's wrong. God's Light isn't working!" she says and Maple suddenly looks nervous.

"Well... Small problem, the suits don't work very well with magic, so... I had to add an inhibitor or your innate magical abilities would mess up the suits systems, while wearing the suit you won't be able to use magic, though it will also make you immune to magic cast on you," she explains.

Yulia hesitates. She could sleep, or she could strip naked in the middle of the train, use God's Light to heal herself and then either put the suit back on or leave it off and rely on her magic still.

"You two look real cute by the way. Real sexy cyber babes," Dreg says and Maple glares at the intercom speaker.
