The Inn

The party reunited, we proceeded towards the inn the church rented rooms for us at. Following behind Lucille, we arrived at the place, the attendant granting us our room keys after we explained who we were. Tired out from a long day of travel, some of us still recovering from the dishes, we each retired to our separate rooms.

I set my things aside before lying on the bed, reflecting on the events of the day. Hearthvale was a rather quaint town. It had quite a charming atmosphere. The architecture, while mostly the same across buildings, was still quite beautiful. The bazaar was a hub of diversity, both in species and culture. It was a marvel to see, like something out of an RPG.

Even the church was pretty cool. It clearly was meant to accommodate live music, much like big churches on Earth. The nun we met was pretty cute too, though modest. Arlo seemed like a nice enough guy. He was pretty generous with his rewards, so figure we’d get along pretty well. Then again, from what Lucille said, him being high ranking would guarantee him being a nice guy, as he’d have to do good deeds to level up and advance through the church’s ranks.

Soon enough, sleep came. It was a peaceful, dreamless sleep for the first time in a while. I was awoken naturally by the light through the window. I was grateful to be able to come to Gaia. My boring old life turned into one full of excitement. Not only that, I felt like I was finally doing something important. It was a good feeling.

Brushing my idle thoughts aside, I dragged myself out of bed, getting dressed and heading out of my room down to the inn’s lobby to regroup with my party.
