The Inn

A few eyes went in my direction as I entered the inn although they all looked away after a few seconds. All except one.

“Hello stranger” said the innkeeper “anything I can get you?” She asked while cleaning a cup.

She was an exotic beauty in my eyes with dark skin and braided hair done into a ponytail. Athletic build, lacking in the chest department but more than made up for in with her hips and ass. One of the best I’ve seen to be honest. Probably in her early thirties.

She’s obviously not from around here I thought admiring her flawless ebony skin. I’ve heard of darker skinned people from other countries back at home but I haven’t actually met one.

An exotic beauty unlike any other, I must have her I thought the demon blood starting to show itself.

“Excuse me” the innkeeper said interrupting my thoughts. “Did you hear me?”

“Yes” I answered. “Sorry it’s been a long day”.

“That’s alright” she said gesturing towards a stool, “if rests what you need you came to the right place.”

“I will take a water please” I say as I take a seat feeling awkward.

It’s been a very long time since I have been treated as a normal person. They had no reason to treat me as anything else I realized. I looked normal, and was freshly clean, wearing clothes of which May picked for me from her son’s wardrobe.

Perhaps I could go back to a normal life without running or being afraid...

But then I remembered the pain ,the beatings, starvation. Most of all two bodies buried fresh, and two women corrupted almost beyond recognition. No I banished all thought of a normal life I made my choice and so did everyone else. If they wanted a monster they would get one.

“Excuse me” I called for the innkeeper, sipping my water.

A wisdom my father once told me when we traveled to a neighboring village was that if you had any questions about someplace new ask who everyone buys drinks from. Drunken people have a loose tongue and whoever serves the drinks hears all.
