The Hidden City of the Amazons

Having come to terms with the fantastical situation he had found himself in, or at least having made progress in doing so, Nat continued walking down the tunnel. After a few strides, however, he realized that Veronica wasn't following him. "Veronica, what's got you held you up?" he asked. "Oh, nothing, I'm just taking a closer look at the carvings..." she said, a faint hint of arousal in her voice. "Well, if you want to stay behind and examine everything thoroughly, I understand, but I'm going to go deeper in and keep up the search for Adam." Nat replied. Veronica, suddenly reminded of their journey's original purpose, quickly caught up with Nat and continued down the tunnel alongside him.

As the pair of archaeologists continued down the tunnel, a strange sensation washed over them, growing stronger the further they went along. The air felt different, the world around them felt different, but not in any way that either of them could place. It felt like there was more to their movements than simply walking down a stone corridor. "Nat, you're feeling this too, right? The way the air feels... off?" Veronica asked, clearly perplexed, but less obviously worried that her lust was starting to really get to her. "Yes, I am. It could mean that we're closing in on an exit of some kind, but I do agree with you, something's not normal here. Or rather, something here is stranger than the rest of this already is..." Nat replied, just as perplexed. Veronica was relieved that her horny mind wasn't playing tricks on her, but that relief only made way for more confusion. Just what was it about this tunnel that felt so strange? It had to be more just how exceptional of an archaeological find it was...

Not long after their exchange, Nat and Veronica spotted something that, while not exactly surprising given how strange of a situation they were in, was still something that neither of them had really expected to see in the tunnel; light. There was light further down the tunnel. Upon seeing this, Nat's pace quickened to a sprint as he called out to Veronica that they found the corridor's end. They covered the remainder of the tunnel's length quickly enough, and when they finally exited it, they were in awe at the sight before them. They stepped out onto a stone walkway, suspended about a dozen feet deep in massive gorge, connecting its walls. The jungle canopy was thick above them, and lush vines cascaded down the gorge's walls. Gazing into the gorge revealed what could only be a city, built in layers down its steep sides. The city's architecture was very much Greek, any pretenses of Incan influence left behind in the tunnel. But out of all the breathtaking sights before her, what caught Veronica's eye the most were the statues that flanked the opposite end of the walkway. Two intricately detailed likenesses of towering, voluptuous, ripped and, dare she think it, hung Amazons...
