The energy wormed its way in among the skeleton of a dragon. There, it stayed, and twisted. Taking on the aspects that had once been those of the dragon whose bones now surrounded it.

The great dragon Attor. Corruptor of the human civilisation of Ur-Anath. The one who convinced its priests to lead their flocks into the shadow of his wings, nestled among its mud huts and built his armies to sweep the rest of the fledgling humans from the earth. It took the combined forces of the humans, elves, dwarves and Vash'quar to slay him, the first time they had ever worked as one. When he died, his bones were taken down into the Inferno by the devils themselves, to be laid to rest on an endless plain of ash, a final tribute to one of the most powerful overlords ever to rule.

His strength was not merely in his draconic form, though the saber-like talons, spear-like teeth, nigh-invulnerable hide and flaming breath certainly helped his rise to power. No, his true strength lay as a leader. Threats, promises, lies... he used everything he had to ensure that his armies followed his orders precisely. And those orders were issued by one of the finest military minds of their era.

Now, the energy swirls within his ribcage, taking on a form that he might have recognised. A draconic form. Of course, even with the power boosts provided by the devils, and the skeleton itself, the full power of a dragon is beyond its reach, so some cuts had to be made...

Rather than the full, imposing bulk of a dragon, the form is smaller, though not weaker. Standing at two meters tall, with large wings, thick black scales that, over the dark red flesh, looked like lava, and a heavy cock between his legs. Its blood boiled with the flames of the dragon, and its mouth was fanged. Its arms and legs ended in cruel talons, and its eyes were slits of red afloat in a sea of silver.

It was a drake, the humanified version of a dragon, normally found when a female toy of a male dragon somehow survived the sex long enough to give birth.

Its mind, though, remains every bit as keen as Attor's was. It knows every stratagem, every silver word, every trick Attor knew, and it holds the capacity to learn more. Everything Attor never knew or couldn't master. Thing invented since he died. And the one thing that would have made Attor unstoppable: magic.

Given time, this being could become the single biggest threat ever to face Aegius. A threat capable of doing what its forefather never quite could: facing down every race of good and right and bringing them all crumbling down.

But first, it will have to navigate the hells...

Its mouth opens. A ragged breath is drawn. A few sparks of flame leave its mouth. And its eyes open.

You look at the world for the first time. You see the bones of your predecessor, the endless ash waste where they were left, and the flocks of demons overhead. Flocks that scatter and flee as they sense the wave of power that accompanies the birth of a devil.

You flex, shrugging your shoulders and your wings, stretching your arms. Your mind burns with ideas. How to outmanoeuvre the Vash'quar forces. How to **** the elves to kneel by razing their forests. How to corrupt the human's society.

Focus.

You need a solid powerbase in the Inferno before you can even think about campaigning, and that solid powerbase will have to be built around servants. Lesser devils and demons. Then you can expand.

After all, you are the Helldrake, the recreation of Attor. Nothing can stop your march.
