The Hazing Begins

The Delta Mu house had once been one of the town’s premier bed and breakfasts. But after the owners wife passed he grew disinterested in running it full time and had jumped at the chance when the pioneering early members of the freshly removed from campus sorority had approached him about renting it full time.

Blair noticed the many touches of of the once famous BnB as she was toured through the house early Friday evening. But the past decade of partying and lack of upkeep had taken its toll. Also being the school year home to 15+ girls hadn’t helped. “Though technically on paper only the executive board lives here.” Daniela had informed her during the tour “the town has some really old laws still on the books that any dwelling with more than four girls who are unrelated living together is considered a brothel so legally speaking…”

That along with the worn interior and exterior of the house had Blair skeptical at first of her choice. But as the evening wore on she started to appreciate the coziness that the house and its mismatched furniture brought. And maybe it was the **** that she was being easily fed, but she found she was having a great time meeting all of the sisters and her fellow pledges.

She was deep into a conversation with Fiona, another sophomore sister named Emilie, and a fellow pledge named Maria when she heard the old grandfather clock that stood next to the old check-in desk in the lobby chime midnight. The first four outs of her pledging process had flown by fast she thought to herself as a bush fell over the room as Candice grabbed everyone’s attention at the center of the large one time guest dining room that they now stood in.

“Alright everyone!” The busty Latina called out. “It’s been super awesome meeting and chatting with everyone, but I’m afraid it’s now midnight and now time to get down to business.” Blair tensed. Daniela had promised her that this process wouldn’t be easy. And had told her that it was all to start this weekend. When pressed for more details all she provided was “be prepared to stay at the house till Sunday night and make sure you pack clean underwear and track shoes.” She’d winked after the last part, but Blair had taken her seriously.

“Now I trust all of you got the low down from the sister who recruited you, but just to reiterate…” Candice continued, “We are not an on campus sorority. That comes with a lot of great perks, due to the fact that we are not governed by the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life. As such we don’t have to play by their rules: meaning mostly that we can do whatever the fuck we want!”

A cheer went up from the assembled sisters that was quickly echoed by the pledges in the room.

“That also means our pledging process is quite different that those of on campus sororities. You over the next eleven weeks will undergo a series of challenges that have, for the most part, been done by every single sister here during their pledge process, and every single sister of this sorority for the past decade. One of which you all have already completed as a pre-requisite for being in this room.”

Blair felt an involuntary loop in her stomach as she looked around the room. Had really every single girl here been naked in the Crimson Barrel bathroom?

“Additionally if you are given a request from anyone in the sisterhood you are expected to complete that request. I will add that you are free to back out of any requests from the sisterhood, but know that that will be taken into account into who we initiate. During weekly challenges you can again choose not to participate… but failing to complete a challenge will result in being asked to leave the pledging process. There are 10 of you and only 6 slots… and keep in mind we don’t even have to take 6.”

The tension in the room was palpable as Blair glanced around the room at the 9 other girls that she would be competing against. They in turn we’re doing the same.

“With that I turn things over to our pledge coordinator Monica to give you instructions on this nights challenge.” And with that Candice stepped aside and Monica strode into the center of the room. She had changed out of her party outfit and was now wearing a black turtleneck with black leggings and her hair pulled back into a ponytail.

“First things first pledges.” The light haired girl began “when I or any of my fellow sisters address you with a request or a challenge I expect to hear you answer with a ‘Yes Sister!’ Or a ‘No Sister!’ Is that clear?”

Blair and the other 9 girl’s followed with the expected “Yes Sister!”

“Good. Now form a line shoulder to shoulder against that wall.” The girls in the room all began to shuffle their way to their respective places when Monica shouted out “I didn’t hear you!”

“Yes Sister!” came the hurried reply. Blair’s heart was racing as she and her fellow pledges stood against the back wall of the room and the rest of the sisterhood filled in around Monica in the center clearly excited for the proceedings.

“Now for your first challenge we are going to divide you into two teams. And we’re going to let two captains pick those teams. Now before you volunteer yourself be aware that the team that loses tonight’s challenge will face a punishment for tomorrow. A punishment that will be extra difficult for the captain of the losing team.”

Without even a second more to think about it the tated Asian girl Mimi stepped forward “I volunteer to be one of the Captains.”

“Great! Mimi you will pick team 1. Any volunteers to be the captain of team 2?” Monica asked.

Blair turned her head left and right looking at her fellow pledges. Each were looking just as reserved as she was about stepping forward. But then as she was turning her head to look back at Monica she caught sight of Daniela’s bright confident smile and she decided to take a leap of faith and try and reward the auburn haired girl for her confidence in her.

“I’ll do it.” Blair said stepping forward.
