The Genius of the Sky takes flight

Without even looking, the thong wearing Io moonsaults off the top rope and lands across the midsection of Candice LeRae, breaking the table into two pieces! Almost instantly dueling chants of “HOLY SHIT” and “NXT” break out from the audience. The chants disperse not long after as Io grabs a hold of Candice’s trunks and pulls them down as Shirai gets to her feet. The bell rings and Io collapses to the mat. She lays on her back to look up at the lights, exhausted and tired after such a hard hitting match up. Shirai moves into a sitting position as the referee walks over to hand her the NXT Women’s Championship. Candice shakes her head in frustration, clearly disappointed in this outcome. Now this is the second time Candice has been stripped to her underwear on NXT TV! On the other side of the spectrum, this is the second time Io has won a Bra and Panties match on NXT TV. Last year it was Dakota Kai, and this time around it was Candice LeRae. Two very different competitors, two very similar outcomes. Candice tried to take this belt from her, but failed. They can take her clothes, but they can never take her belt.
